January 1994, Malfoy Manor

*5 years later*

I awakened from my nap with a groan to the sound of a cruel and loud knocking on my bedroom door. After all, life could have never be crueler than with the Malfoys - accept for the many privileges that came with it like a nice soft bed of course.

As I prepared myself to get up from my position, the bastard guilty of awakening my sleep decided to have the honor of letting himself in. He took one look at me a let out a gasp of horror "You're sleeping?!"

"Yes?" I replied, my tone hinted with annoyance. It was, who else but Lucius, biggest ass of all time. Suddenly a shock hit me as Lucius slapped me on the head. "Ow!" I shout sitting up and clutching my head. "Foolish girl! Did you really think you could get away with this?"

"What?! Sleeping?!" I exclaimed. "You said I could sleep anytime I wanted -"

"NOT THAT YOU LITTLE...." He stopped, not wanting Narcissa to hear him. Narcissa always had my back.

Suddenly it hit me as to what he was on about. Ever since I couldn't go to Hogwarts all those years ago, a new Hogwarts offer of enrollment letter would fly in each year and we had to decline every time. But that year...well...I intercepted the owl that they'd sent to decline and tweak it to look like I'd accepted the offer..

"How dare you try to leave without my permission!" he shouts angrily, withdrawing me from my train of thought. I knew why he'd be so mad about it - my father would have either killed or punished him severely for letting me step out of line. It was Lucius' job to keep me in line and he would go about it like it was the word of the Lord Almighty.

It was almost comical how angry he had start to get at everything, what with all the signs appearing. The previous year, Sirius Black, a murderer and cousin of Bellatrix Lestrange escaped from Azkaban, and two years previous, the famous Chamber of Secrets was reopened after fifty years! Three years previous, the were rumors that Papa had attempted to kill the Boy who Lived by possessing someone.

"It wasn't me..Wormtail did it!" I could hear the tinge of lie in my voice, as if I was trying to convince myself and Lucius.

"- What do you mean Wormtail did it?" He asked, sounding confused. I growled. He was so slow.

"Uh, Wormtail accepted me into Hogwarts?" I replied.

Suddenly Lucius' eyes grew wide, his lip thin, and I swear I saw stem begin to come out of his ears. "YOU WHAT?! HOW DARE YOU! WHEN YOUR FATHER HEARS ABOUT THIS....!"

"What do you mean? I thought you meant...?" I got up from my place as he paced back and forth across the room, suddenly coming to a halt at me.

"And that's another thing too! How dare you decide to sneak off to the Triwizard cup. Do you KNOW how many Death Eaters I recruited to come get you again? The ministry got involved! And whats more, I had to pretend it was some attack on mudbloods! And now, you have to go to Hogwarts because you must've forged my signature and accepted. You stupid ridiculous girl! I'm sending a letter at once to end this! You are not going to attend Hogwarts!"

"But you let Draco go! And he's in the same year as -"

"Don't you dare mention the Dark Lord's enemy in my house! And Draco is my son, you are the daughter of the Dark Lord!"

"Well it's too late now." I smirked. "Once an offer of enrollment has been accepted it can't be withdrawn! So HA, you can't say shit to Dumbledee!"

Lucius cried out in anger as he threw a lamp off the table and let it smash on the floor. I was at a loss for words - Lucius getting angry was my version of muggle tv, especially since Potter freed his house elf, now that was entertainment. "I'm sorry" I say, a little smirk on my face.

"No you're not." His face had grown red with rage as he pointed at me. "I know that you are pleased in the fact you are allowed to even go now. You'll begin to draw attention eventually with you rather famous last name!"

I frowned. "What? I get accepted into my first school and you want me to change my name to something like; I don't know, Sally Goodberry? That alone will get me mobbed!"

"Who ever said I was choosing the name?! It's only the last name so no one knows you're the daughter -"

"Adopted!"

"- Of the Dark Lord!"

"Urgh okay okay! Jesus just calm down!" I tried to think a little while of a name, but nothing worthwhile came to me. "Smith?"

"Too common."

"Jakes?"

He almost laughs. "A low rank blood name descended from muggles - I don't think so.

Frustration fills me as I continue to think, my finger twirling my hair ends. Then I smirk.

"What about......Potter?"

"NO!"

I sniggered. He had almost screamed. "You know I feel like you're doing this for yourself." I teased. "It's not every day a death eater gets to be creative."

A look of irritation crossed his mouth. I knew he was brewing to breaking point. "You need something original and new. Something that also is worthy of the dark lords daughter -"

"Adopted." I murmered.

" - Caedus."

"What?" I asked. I hadn't even been listening properly.

"Caedus." He said. "Yes that sounds fitting."

"How can you come up with a name like that?"

"It's Latin. Means....murderous."

"Oh God." I mumbled. "Very Dark Lord worthy." I said sarcasticlly.

"I don't care. We leave tomorrow. Start packing." With that he slammed the door.
