I tore my gaze away from the girl at the window and gave my whole attention to the older lady in front of me. Mr. Windfeld was standing next to me. The old lady was around the age of seventy. She had dark grey hair with wrinkles but she look fresh even though she was old. She had green eyes and she look stern and cold.

" This is Miss Thompson. Lillian. She takes care of my children while I am away and even takes care of the house. We have known each other since I was a child" Mr. Windfeld told me. I smiled and nodded.
" Oh. It's nice to me you" I said and looked at Miss Thomspon. She nodded, nothing more.
Some people are just not friendly.

Mr. Windfeld was showing me around before he would leave. This mansion was a little old fashion. It had a wooden floor and a lot of paintings.
When school started I would go to Colin's private school. Mr. Windfeld said that I didn't need to worry about the money.
I could see he looked at some pictures in a bedroom we were in. He looked at the picture in sad thoughts.

I moved closer to look at the picture and saw a woman that was holding my mum. They were both laughing. It felt like my heart got stabbed. Then he looked at me again at that way people looked when I remind him of my mother. I looked at him sympathetically and with that look that I know exactly how he felt.

" I miss my mum too" I said. He looked at me shocked and surprised. Like how I could know what he was thinking about.
But I guess they feel each other really good and were sad about my mum died too. Like his best friend die or someone important that always was there was now gone. I know that feeling.
" You are maybe too smart for this house" He said like he was warning me for something. Like it wasn't good to be smart here. I didn't understand what he meant. " Anyway this is your room".

What I didn't saw when Mr. Windfeld show me around was that he was looking at me, Colin. He was watching me with cruel intentions and with a satisfied grin. He tried to figure me out by standing and watch my step and look into my soul and by just watching me.

I said goodbye to Mr. Windfeld when he was leaving the house before dinner. My first day in the house wasn't so bad.
When I closed the door after Mr. Windfeld, I wasn't prepared that when I had closed the door it relieved a boy, Colin. He had stand behind the door which was open when I say goodbye to his father. I hadn't noticed him. He was quiet like a mouse. He had dark hair and blue eyes. But in the dark his eyes was dark.
He had a cold expression on his face, I swallowed. He looked at me like I was his new toy to play around me and I didn't like that feeling. Maybe I have just imagined it.

" Hello" I cracked out. He was standing there and just looked at me with a blank expression. He didn't say anything on a while. He looked at me properly.
" Hi. You must be Avelina. Colin" He said and held out his hand and waiting for me to shake his hand. I took his hand and shake it with a smile.

His hand was cold. Like really cold but it didn't seem like he was freezing. I took away my hand from his and looked around.

After some seconds he dinner was ready and I couldn't be happier. I was starving and this situation with Colin just make me uncomfortable.
Miss Thompson had made meat and potatoes with some sauce. I was sitting at the table next to Miss Thompson. Colin sat in front of me.
Some minutes later I heard someones was running to us.

A girl with dark brown hair at the age of eleven. It was the girl who looked at me from the window. That must be Juniper. She looked so innocent. She looked at me with a cute smile in happiness.

" Juniper" Colin said while looking at her. Juniper took her eyes on her brother with a cold expression. It was like her aura change when he spoke to her with no emotion besides intrest. " This is Avelina"
She looked at me again and I smiled.
" Nice to meet you" I said and she giggle.
" You are beautiful" She said.
" Thank you, you too"
She sat down beside her brother and then her smiled disappear.

The whole dinner while I was eating I could feel Colin's cold gaze on me. I ignored it the whole time. I had a wrong feeling about him. He had a dark aura and he affect his little sister negatively, what I have seen.
But what I have noticed is that everyone besides Mr. Windfeld there was cold and didn't give many emotions. It's unusual in a family. But really, what did I know. I didn't have a family anymore. Maybe they all were like this because of the loss of their mother.
However, I felt something was odd with this place. My gut feeling was telling me that but I totally ignored it.
