To win the system, one must play the game.

At least, that is what Shrew was taught from a young age, to outsmart his competition from the inside. It is a principle he still uses, even to this day. Yet, this time, he sat dumbfounded, sinking back into his chair, puffing smoke out of a pipe, and recounting the events from the nights before.

The library around him was cold, the air crisp with the autumn air, the steam rising from his tea sat on the table beside him. He brushed through The War of Worlds, occasionally pausing to write a note, but his mind still raced.

"Hello dear. Would you care for some tea?" The voice was deep, somewhat ragged, and belonging to his husband, Danny-Lee Virgil, as he stood in the libraries doorway, his eyebrow cocked, his smile wavered.

"No, I have some already. Thank you, though."

"Are you feeling well, Shrew?"

"Truthfully? No. I keep mulling over what happened, even though it has been countless days. I don't know, Danny, I really don't know what to do, besides the only thing I know how to. I want to save that girl. I know where they're taking her."

"As do I, but it is unwise to attack the casino. Every criminal in New Orle-"

"We go from the inside, my dear. Sabotage. It is perfect. I have mulled over the plan, spent countless nights awake thinking of it. " Shrew smiled into his pipe, before staring up at Danny, his eyes twinkling with deceit.

"As you wish, my love. I do have a question, however. What is your plan?" Danny inquired, leaning up against the old, wooden door frame.

"We leave at dusk, by vehicle of course. We use their own medicine back onto them. I have forged ourselves fake identities, and with my illusions, we will be.. more or less undetectable. However, we do have a problem. The owner of the casino can smell a lie a mile away, so it would be best to deal with him first."

"Laurence Bennedict. I know him through his lackey, Hathoway. The man is a con."

"Thats what you might infer, but I know him better than anyone, except those closest to him. We used to be... business partners, when I was young and stupid. The man... has talents. He is extremely powerful. That is why he is our priority."

"I understand, Shrew. Anything else?"

"No. Pack a bag. We have a journey to embark on."
