A blur.
That's all that Ji Yan could see for miles ahead.
A petite black snake with lustrous scales, representative of the Great Snake Clan.
A body with a smooth surface like the finest quality of jadeite, glistening with every wave of movement under the bright sun shining down upon it.
It's ludicrous that such a magnificent being lacks the pleasure of being able to view the world in its beauty.
Though for Ji Yan, this didn't matter.
The Snake Clansmen were notorious for their poor eyesight.
Such a small inconvenience was something that generations before her had already been adapted to, thus they had no ambition to further seek for something they were never entrusted with from the beginning.
Even in their human form, they were doomed to be blind in every way, never being able to distinguish anything visually.
But the descriptions of the world's grandeur slowly sprouted a looming interest within the little snake's heart, being watered with each word and growing with time.
God Xu Rui.
A well known almighty deity, said to hold a considerable amount of strength, an amount comparable to heaven's child.
The God claimed that there was nothing that could be on par with the sights that the world held, and he was willing to provide her with the gift of vision that many before her could never attain.
Indeed there was a price to pay, but the temptation outweighed the cons.
All the God wanted was one wish.
Was it really that simple?
Ji Yan didn't intend to bother with the specifics and was eager to finally be able to perceive the world around her in full.
For centuries she was able to observe and enjoy all the spectacles that the lands had provided, from the glorious to the horrendous.
The God followed side by side with her through the years, carefully providing guidance and teachings to her.
Different places, different stories, different experiences, she'd seen them all.
Over time the Snake Spirit had also become fond of the God.
When Ji Yan finally had enough of the world, the God introduced her to a system, supposedly capable of transmitting souls into different realms.
Apparently the God was ill, and this was the, "only way to heal his injured soul."
The Snake Spirit felt a growing sensation of endearment when she heard the God's explanation.
He still doesn't realise it huh..
A teasing smile erupted from her exquisite face as she listened to the God's words.
Ji Yan was appointed to protect the God's soul fragments and prevent any disaster from approaching them.
This was the God's wish from her.
Ji Yan acquiesced to his request, her anticipation gradually increasing.
What wasn't noticed by Ji Yan was that before the God had departed to scatter his souls, planted on his face was a content smile, but behind his eyes was evidence of longing.
Maybe one day she'd notice, I'll be looking forward for that day to arrive.
[Host! Please do your best for God Xu Rui!!]
The System chimed in right before Ji Yan was set to leave for the first of several realms.
The charmingly lazy woman was leaning on her side, awaiting to be transported.
"Let's go then.."
A beautiful and pleasantly sounding reply came from her, a glint of excitement shone in her sleepy eyes at the very last second before they were closed shut.
He finally decided to do something.. I'm curious to know what he has to offer after making me wait all these years..
