Lost Memories

Chapter 1

My eyes fluttered open adjusting to the small amount of light beaming through the van window. Wait, Van window? Why am I here? What happened last night? I tried to move towards the window, but then realized that something was holding me back. My hands tied behind my back and my mouth and legs were duct taped. Was I being kidnapped? These questions kept running through my head until I noticed something move from the corner of my eye. I turned my head to see who it was, when I noticed a young man tied up as well. What was going on? Okay, I have to stop asking myself questions and try to get out of here now! I began to wiggle my arms under my legs and around to get them in front of me. Slowly but carefully peeling the tap off my legs and mouth. Who ever kidnapped us, didn’t really think this through. As I finished untying myself I noticed the man on the side had woken up with an amused look in his eyes.

“What! “ I asked in an irritated tone. In response he just shook his head.

“What ever” and with that I walked up to him and began to untie his arms and legs, leaving him to deal with the tape on his face for him self.

“oh sh**!” I covered his mouth before he could finish. Did he not realize that we were being kidnapped and that the kidnapper could probably hear us.

“Be quite, they could hear us!” I whisper shouted.

“Whats going on? Why are we here?”

“Well I was hoping you would tell me, but I guess that’s not happening ” with that I walked up to the small window hoping that I would recognize where we were. My jaw dropped to the ground the moment I looked outside. All I could see was sand and nothing but sand.

“ Well since we're going to be stuck in here for a while, might as well get to know each other” Is he being serious. We are being kidnapped to who knows were, and instead of figuring out how to escape he wants to get to know me.

“My name is Joseph, I'm 22” he said with a small smirk on his face, while extending his hand out for me to shake.

“Amelia, 21, but right now we have to think of a way to get out of here”

“Okay, so what do you have have in mind?”

“Nothing yet, but I will think of something...” I was cut off when the car jerked in to a stop, causing me to fall on top of Joesph.

“Why hello there” Great I'm stuck in a van with a flirt, that just makes everything better. This was probably going to be a pretty long ride. That was when I realized that the van had stopped. I quickly got off Joseph and ran up to the window and noticed that we were at a gas station. A man walked up towards the van and began to talk.

“ What did you do! You grabbed the wrong person!” Wait, what does he mean? He must be talking about us.

“I know, I'm planning on selling her to get a couple of bucks. No point of sending her back when I could make some money” the old man said with a filthy smirk across his face

“WHAT!” Joesph yelled

“ Shut up! Like I said before, do you want to die!” I looked out the window one last time, but to my disadvantage they were gone.

“ Great, they must have heard you”

“ I'm sorry, but why would they sell us?” I looked at him like how I looked at a dog barking at a light. I just pretended that I didn't here anything and walked away. Right now, I have to think of a way to get out of here.
