Dear Anne,

I am  glad you found a dress you are fond off but I insist Anne, let me purchase it!
I do not matter how much it is, as long as my Anne is happy that's all that matters.

Please Anne?

No use arguing though, I know you will say No so I have attached the 800 my father left me to this letter and if this is too little don't be shy to ask for more!

That's all for now but I'd love if you'd write to me more.

Lots of love,
Gilbert Blythe x

Why, Gilbert why? This is too much money! How could he possibly give me 800 in a letter? What if it could've been lost away at sea or even worse stolen!

I must write to him back at once!

As I was grabbing my ink and quilt i heard a knock on the door..

" Anne?" I heard a sweet voice mutter.
"Who is it?" I yelled.
"It Diana , let me in at once!" Diana sounded as if there was something gravely important she had to tell me.
"Diana what's wrong?" I asked as I saw tears run down her cheek.
Diana took in a big gulp.
"It's Marilla..."
"She's immensely ill.. She hasn't much time left.."

A sinister shiver ran down my spine. The women whom was like a mother to me... was going to.. No this can't be right. She was going to... die.
"No this, Can't be! I left her at Christmas she was all jolly!" I was in disbelief.

Before I knew it my tears ran down my pale skin as my enthusiasm and excitement drained from my heart as my heart filled with regret and guilt.

"Anne I.." Diana was cut off.
"No Diana. I must leave at once."
"But Queens exams are in 3 days!" Diana said as she wiped her tears with her silk handkerchief.
"What does Queens matter if I can't celebrate graduating with the someone whom I hold dear to my heart.." I said whilst I started to pack my bags.
"What can I do, Anne.. To help!" Diana replied.

I stayed silent as I thought to my self..

" Could you write to Gilbert telling him not to worry and tell him about our situation.." I said whilst I held back my tears.

" I'll do that right away" Diana exclaimed as she walked away managing her empathy.

Meanwhile I was combatting my own thoughts.

Princess Cordelia was grief-stricken..
