Adrian's POV
Why on earth did she have to look so........so hot yet beautiful at the same time? The moment so walked in I couldn't find it in myself to look away. It looked as if she wanted to turn around right there and then but decided against it. We held eye contact for a moment before she scowled at Cole.
Seems like Cole and Jade conspired against her, but I liked the idea of sitting next to her. As she walks to the table, probably cussing at Cole with her eyes, I shifted a bit to make some space in between us. I obviously didn't want to come off as a pervert or something.
The moment she sat down, I never heard silence so loud. It was as if there was an invincible argument happening between Cole and Daniella only with their eyes, quite comical if i say so myself. After a minute it seemed like Daniella won and Cole gave up, the perfect opportunity to break the ice.
"got what you were looking for?" great.....just great, Jade just had to do it first. Our drinks just happened to come so Daniella didn't answer immediately. The waiter came over, but not after giving her number to Cole, not so subtle.
"mmmh, I think it's the 11 pro max, quite satisfied" Daniella answered while shrugging her shoulder. "nice but you know it's not really the newest" Cole said while sipping his drink. Daniella just answered with a shrug, I guess not really caring.
We ordered some lunch and ate in comfortable silence, it surprises me that I haven't said a word, but who wouldn't. I'm practically almost brushing shoulders with her (since she's left handed). Seeing how uncomfortable I am Cole clears his throat "so Adrian....anything you want for your birthday?".
Wow.....what an awesome conversation starter, clear sarcasm right there. He obviously knows that Daniella doesn't know my birthday is in a few days.....mental eye roll. In return I just gave him a sceptical look, whiles he waits expecting an answer.
" when's your birthday?" surprisingly Daniella asks. Cole, looking very pleased with himself, continues eating. "30th July" I turn to look at her for a reaction. "mmmh, explains a lot" she just shrugs while holding eye contact for a few seconds before going back to sipping her drink.
Confused I look at Jade for some elaboration. Seeming to get my point she nods and explains that it's because my zodiac is a Leo, didn't exactly expect that. "oh so when is your birthday Daniella?" I ask in hopes to continue this interaction. "I don't feel like telling you" she looks me dead in the eye with a tiny smirk.
Agh...she is totally killing me here and I sort of like every second of it. Jade suddenly speaks up "well I found out that Daniella and I just so happened to share a zodiac" she adds a wink by the end of her statement, while Daniella just rolls her eyes.
Okay so if they share a zodiac, does that mean that they share a birthday month as well? As the conversation continues at the table, I quickly get out my phone and search 'zodiac'. Turns out her birthday has to be in either September or October, but we'll leave that topic to another day.
"can I hang out at your place after this, Daniella?" I swear Cole is definitely trying to get on my nerves. Daniella on the other hand doesn't seem to have a problem with it "sure as long as you promise to behave well" she looks at him with a stern look. Cole nods and grins like a child in a candy store.
Expectant both Jade and I turn to Daniella in hopes to also get invited. She seems sceptical at first but I guess our sibling charm just happened to be on our side today. She sighs "sure you guys can tag along, be glad my mom has a big operation today". Yeah not glad for the person though, but happy to spend a little more time with her.
We quickly finish up, and everyone pays for their meal except well I'm sure you can guess, Cole. He always does this so I'm not even surprised. As we leave Daniella excuses herself saying she has to go to the bathroom and tells us to wait in the car. After a few minutes of waiting in comfortable silence she gets in the passenger seat and we're off to her house.
A little bit short I know but trust the proses okay. I must admit that I've been avoiding this book......but it won't disappear, obviously😅.
