I never thought this would actually happen to me, I only dreamed of it while I was sat at the kitchen table while my father home-schooled me. My father was a very talented wizard, and even my muggle mother dying when I was only seven didn't stop him putting a smile on my face everyday. Even when it was just the two of us in our small cottage house, it felt like home. But today I would have to say goodbye to that home and instead I would be going to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, finally my dreams became a reality.
I snapped out of my thought when my dog Nala ruffled her face against my thigh. She was a German Shepard but she was completely while with sparkling blue eyes. "I'm sorry. I'll be back before you know it, and you'll always be my girl ok?" I said, as she gave me a small sneeze in response, I smiled as I stood up from sitting on my bed. A car horn beeping could be heard from outside my window, I pulled back the curtain and saw my best friend Will sat in his car, waiting for me. "Mae! Will's here!" I heard my dad tell me from downstairs. "I'm coming! I'll just be a minute." I looked at myself in the mirror and saw myself staring back at me my long brunette hair that was neatly resting behind my back, I was wearing a white tight fit shirt that has short-sleeves, a cute yellow skirt paired with white trainers.
Here's an image for visualisation:
It was quite warm out but this was England so I grabbed my soft white long sleeved jumper witch was a button up but a crop top, it was a bit baggy but it looked good on me. I put the jumper in my brown shoulder bag and headed downstairs with Nala following me. "You got everything." My dad asked coming from the kitchen to meet me at the front door. "I think so." I said checking off things in my head. My dad grabbed hold of my trunk as I said my final goodbye to Nala, not that she would know until I wouldn't return soon.
We walked outside and as me dad closed the boot after putting my trunk inside he walked up to me and held my shoulder trying to hold back his tears. "Dad I gave you two cries maximum this week, don't blow through them in one day." Laughing my dad responded "I won't. But I want to give you something." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a brown sealed envelope with nothing written on it. "I want you to open it when you get to Hogwarts, ok?" I agreed silently, as he handed me the envelope. He took me into a warm embrace as he held me tightly and I did the same, I felt my eyes fill with tears but I fought to let them fall as it would only make it harder to leave him.
"I'm proud."
Those words from my dad rang though my head, swallowing up my only thoughts pushing them the darkness depths of my mind. My dad pulled away and kissed me gently on the forehead. "Ok I have to go or I'm going to miss the train, I love you, dad."
"I love you too."I wiped my face and got into the passenger seat of Will's car. He had waxy brunette messy hair and chocolate brown eyes, he wore his mustard yellow jumper and brown trousers which he wore a lot. "You ready for this?" Will said has he started the engine up. "No." I said slightly laughing at his wild energy. "Well me neither, let's goooo!!!" He yelled as he pulled off and began driving through the countryside. He began blasting music through the stereo and we sang along wildly giving no care in the world.
