"So you mean were breaking up with me?!?" Julie screamed, fury filling her eyes.
"Come on, you're clearly over-reacting here." Zach said in his usual, calm tone, but in reality he was stressing out too.
Zach and Julie are what you call the 'envy couple' in their middle school. He's bought her gifts, she was contented, and they spent almost an hour every day snuggling in broad daylight.
"I told you that I just needed sometime alone, that's all." Zach defended, now feeling agitated by his girlfriend's unusual outburst of rage."Please give me at least that."
"Please give me that!" Julie mocked. "That's all you do! Make reasons! First you told me last week that you had a family event and was 10 minutes late! Now you tell me that you need time away from me!?!? How dare you!" Julie scolded, not giving Zach even a second to answer her, and stormed off.
Zach just stayed there and took it all in, took a deep breath, and walked the other direction.
