On the ground
Everything I need is on the ground
Nah, but they don't hear me though
Yeah, what goes up must come down
Nah, but they don't hear me though
You're runnin' out of time

The rest of the late night coffee... date? Meet-up? Rendezvous?? with Roseanne went well, and it wasn't until you noticed the baristas wiping down all the tables that the two of

You realized you'd been talking for almost two and a half hours.

"Ugh, I think I have to go... I still have class tomorrow," you groaned.

"No don't worry about it! I wasn't expecting to lose track of time so bad either," she giggled.

As you were about to stand up from the table your phone buzzed repeatedly, and you fumbled in the pocket of your jacket to pick up the call.

As you pulled your phone out of your pocket, Roseanne saw the name "Sooyoung" flash across your phone screen with red heart emoji after it. Suddenly she felt her stomach drop.

No.. she thought, it can't be.

"Sorry, I have to take this" you muttered apologetically, "it'll be quick."

Roseanne just felt herself nod numbly in response.

"Hey!" you said as you held the phone to your ear.

She tried to distract herself by swiping through instagram, but she couldn't help but eavesdrop on the conversation you were having. She couldn't make out much of what the other girl was saying, but it sounded a lot like an invitation for you to come over. After hanging up you turned back to Rosie with a smile.

"Sorry about that, ready to go?"

"Yeah, let's go," she responded. "Was that your girlfriend?" She asked as you exited the cafe, trying to sound as casual as possible.

"Oh," you said, a little surprised at the sudden change in topic. "Yeah, her name is Sooyoung, we've only been going out for a couple of months."

"Ahhh.... Cool, cool," Rosie responded. Trying to keep the conversation going despite her heartbreak she asked, "How did you meet?"

"Through class actually, we got paired up for a group project."

"And you're happy?"

"Yeah," you exhaled, "She's really sweet."

"That's good..." Rosé trailed off, she was suddenly feeling fairly claustrophobic. There was a beat of semi-awkward silence as the two of you figured out how best to say goodbye before you suddenly pulled her into a quick embrace. Surprised, Rosé barely had the time to return the hug before it was over.

"Thank you again for tonight," you said, "Really, I mean it. We should do this again, okay?"

"Okay," Roseanne agreed, grinning back at you. It was amazing how your smile made her heart both break and flutter at the same time.

As she hopped into her manager's waiting car, you waved at each other one last time before the car pulled away. Once you were safely out of her sight, Roseanne let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. The drive back to the dorm was silent as she rested her head against the window, waiting to climb into her warm bed so she could finally break down and let out all the tears that had built up through the evening.

-------------------------------------

Stumbling into the dorm, Rosé went straight to her room, not bothering to greet any of her other members or see if anyone else was home. Instead, she collapsed face down on her bed and almost immediately started crying into her pillow. She felt pathetic, how could she have assumed you would just be available after all this time? It had been years, of course you would be dating again. The thought of someone that wasn't her being with you made her feel almost sick to her stomach.
