"You know I once lived in the castle right? I have a map outlining all secret entrances and passageways. Let me go get it", she said, already standing up.

She shook the bits and pieces of grass stuck to her, before dashing inside the house.

She soon came out with a wrinkled piece of rolled parchment.

"Here's the map. Check this out", she said smugly.

Eric's eyeballs popped out of his head as he stared in amazement. His mouth gaped open in a soundless gasp.

The map was a very detailed cross-section of the Faerie Castle. It showed, up to the minute details the various rooms, hallways, courtyards, dungeons, secret passageways, cellars, kitchens, dining rooms and stairways.

"I knew that was going to be your reaction", Violet cried enthusiastically.

She pointed to a highlighted set of secret passageways and stairways located in the southeast of the castle, "These secret passages and stairways lead directly to the Royal Chambers".

She moved her finger across a hallway, "This is the service hall for the King's bedroom. This, is how we enter and exit the King's bedroom when we're done", she explained.

"Excellent. So we have our routes. That's one thing off the checklist. What about the other things?; The magical instruments, ingredients, potions; and most importantly, what is your step brother's timetable? His routine? Day to day activities?", Eric asked.

Violet smiled, "Why do you think I have a garden?"

Eric was confused, "B....but it's just flowers and herbs, nothing special".

"Nature is part of faerie magic. I have planted, cured, and brewed all I need. Everything is ready. I just need to combine then in readiness for the final ingredient".

"Scum blood".

She giggled.

Suddenly, Eric's aura flickered and his head swam. He swooned slightly and collapsed.

Violet panicked as she knelt down and shook him, "Eric! Eric!!", she screamed.

She checked his pulse and breathing and they were shallow. His aura was still flickering, so she knew what was happening.

"Oh.........no", she muttered, terrified.

The doctor was examining the result of the MRI scan and it was incredulous.

His brain showed significant activity in his frontal and temporal lobes - a sign of consciousness - and at his cerebellum and medulla oblongata which were signs that he was moving, and digestion was probably taking place.

"But how, and why is he still comatose?", the doctor thought to himself.

His train of thought was interrupted when a red light and alarm started blaring in his office. The doctor scrambled to his feet and dialed the nursing station on the intercom, "Code Blue, where?", he asked with an urgent note in his voice.

The nurse at the other end sounded just as urgent, "Private ward 2. Eric Giovanni".

The doctor cursed under his breath, "Okay", he inhaled deeply, "I need two nurses there stat, two ampoules of epinephrine 20mg each, the defilibrator, and 3 bags of dextrose saline IV infusion", he barked into the intercom.

"Yes doctor", the nurse replied and promptly cut the intercom call.

The doctor rushed out of the office, his white coat flying behind him.
