I was enjoying my beauty sleep when someone pulled the sheets and I didn't need to open my eyes to know who it was."Please not this early, I still want to sleep" "It's 11am already. Amir said 1pm. Get up" I stood up begrudgingly and headed to the bathroom. My towel was already there with the outfit Nafeesah picked out for me. Black joggers and a yellow baggy T-shirt.
"What are we doing here baayi ?" I stared at the big letters that spelt out 'City Mall' "Come down first then you will know" Nafeesah said as she applied a coat of lipgloss to her lips. "I am not leaving this car until I know where I am going" She chuckled, putting her phone into her bag and opened the car door to step out before looking back at me, "Are you serious? Oh my gosh, I just want to pick something up for Amir, that's all" "Why are you now making it a secret of some sort? " I rolled my eyes.
Nafeesah basically bought groceries for Amir but it felt like it was more than that. After shopping, we decided to get something to eat so we decided on pizza and ice cream. We bought it to go as we spent too much time in the mall already.
"Girls,I am so happy to see you" Amir made his way to hug us both. "I am not the hugging type abeg" Nafeesah said as she swatted Amir's hand away and disappeared into the house. So Amir hugged me instead, "Sweetheart, you look beautiful" "Thank you,Amir" I smiled.Nafeesah reappeared with an open box "Pizza?" "How was the summer break?" I gave a weak smile, "I spent most of it in Ward Three" Amir laughed,"I got you something" He ran upstairs and came back with a bag. "Sweetheart, this is for you" "Thank you Amir" I opened the bag, it contained a tie dye sweatshirt with 'You Can Do It' monogrammed in black bold letters. It also contained a face cap with the same inscription. I smiled at Amir, "Thank you so much,Amir" "You can do it"
"Me nko ?"Nafeesah whined, her face red with jealousy "I didn't get you anything, you are not my spec" I stifled my laughter as Nafeesah faked crying. "Red bag on my bed" She squealed and run up the stairs as fast as she could. I started laughing and smacked his arm playfully, "So how was your vacation trip?" "No whine me abeg, I spent it in the house in London. I was too busy working on projects to go out and flenjor" I laughed.
"School resumes on Monday sef. Gathering dinner is tomorrow niyen, I mustn't miss it cos I feel drama coming on" Amir and Drama were like 5 and 6. Even though he was a boy, he enjoyed good gossip and always knew all the latest stories. He even ran an anonymous blog in UNILAG. "Nafee, please be a dear and send your driver over at 2pm tomorrow.I need to take my stuff from campus since Alhaji has permitted me to stay in this house""That's awesome, I will have my driver over, don't worry"
"But please when you are coming tomorrow night, behave sensible o, not the one that Aunty Yemisi will catch you kissing someone in the kitchen" We all laughed at the memory of our last gathering dinner before we settled down to watch some movies on Netflix "Oya, come and be going. Alhaji will soon start thinking that I have taken you guys to a club" "Time has gone like mad, oya, Nafeesah, get up, let's go" I stood up from the couch and strapped on my sandals then took my bag. Nafeesah also stood up. "See you tomorrow" I pecked Amir on the cheek and joined Nafee in the car. On our way home,we passed by Aquarius Park and I remembered that I had not chatted JJ up yet. I quickly brought out my Iphone and sent him a message.

I put my phone back into my bag as the driver pulled in front of my house. Nafeesah took out her overnight bag and reminded the driver to go to Amir's before waving him goodbye. "Now, let's go in for a sleepover of fun"
I pulled off my shoes, dropped my bags in the closet and changed into my pajamas. "I am really tired" I emptied the bottle of water on my desk into my mouth. "You are not the only one" Nafeesah said emerging from the bathroom. I put on the AC and laid down on the bed and closed my eyes. Nafeesah dropped her clothes and came to the bed. The next I heard were soft snores. I smiled before switching off the lights.
