A New Job

Steve led me to the room we would be sharing.

"So Dumbdog, huh?"

"Are you really making fun of my name?" I asked with slight agitation. He just smirked at me

"Course I am. I'm really toxic," he said, a joking tone in his voice. He was insufferable already. I rolled my eyes and went silent. "Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't know you were gonna take that much offense to it," he said, getting quiet. I kinda glared at him as we got to the room

I opened the door and walked in, figuring out quickly which bed Steve had taken over. His covers were everywhere and he had stolen all the pillows from the other bed

"Do I get pillows?" I asked, slight annoyance pushing my tone. He frowned and it was clear that I ruined his happy mood

"Yeah. Grab whatever," he said and left the room. All I had to do was get onto the Skeld and put in the navigation cords to SP7s ship. The door opened and I saw a short man in pink come towards me

"Apollo," he said in a cold voice. I looked to him with a slightly amused smile

"5up. You worked for xQc didnt you?"

"I don't know what your goal here is, but if you hurt any of them-"

"I stopped being a bounty Hunter a year ago," I lied straight to his face, he looked shocked, then skeptical

"How do I know you're telling the truth?"

"You don't. You don't have to trust me. But until I can get my ship repaired, just stay out of my way,"

"For someone who isn't a hunter, you sure as hell talk like one,"

"That's just my voice 5up. And I don't use the name Apollo, it's Dumbdog now," I growled and left the room. I had forgotten he would recognize my voice, looks like 5up isn't gonna trust me alone anytime soon.

I need to make a call to xQc and see if he would like 5up, I wonder how much he'd pay me

I walked off and up to the reactors. I just needed a moment alone. I went to speak into my watch and make a call when footsteps alerted me that someone was coming over.

"Hey. I'm DK," he said, and I shook his hand. He gave me a weird look as he looked at the reactor. "What are you doing up here,"

"Well I was trying to be alone. I'm not used to being with people," I said, a lie but a small one. I find that when you lie you want to stick as close to the truth as possible.

"Oh. Steve in your room?"

"No, just wanted to look around as well," I said, not wanting to let him know that 5up didn't trust me. I had a feeling that the pink man wouldn't say anything until he had proof as well.

"Well, if you need anything just ask. I'll leave you be," he said and left. I felt thankful and sighed.

"Yeah right. Like you'd held me with what I'm about to do," I mumbled. I knew I was turning in an innocent crew, as innocent as they could be.

I felt a little bad, I truly did. But it wasn't something that I could fix, I was getting paid and that was my job. I could not get attached to anything here, anyone here.

I made the call over my watch to xQc

"Apollo?" He asked, clearly confused. Usually if he needed something he would call me, so this was very weird for him

"Listen. I'm on a job from someone and I have the crew with 5up. You've said that you'd like him back. I can get you him and anyone else if you're willing to pay,"

"5up you say? I'd pay a pretty price for him. How much?"

"Can you top $10,000? Cause that's the deal I have for him already,"

"I can get you $30,000 if you bring me him and his sister. Anyone else I can pay $10,000,"

"Fine. You can get the twins. The rest are going to SP7," I said. I could hear the smirk in his voice

"Perfect. I'll take the deal. Just give them to SP7 and I'll pick them up from there,'

"Don't forget-"

"I know. Money when it's delivered. I've worked with you enough," he said and I disconnected the call. Works for me, but Steve was still my main target.
