———————Patrol was so boring.
Why did they have to spy on the people in L'Manburg? It's not like they were doing anything interesting. They watched as the one with sunglasses and the fox sparred in an open field. They felt a scowl crawl onto their face as they saw the poor quality of their weapons, not to mention their bad fighting posture.
"Dream, these guys are an actual joke, what's the point of this..." they sighed leaning back on the tree behind them. The sound of twigs snapping to their right had them slinking back behind the trunk. They pulled out their bow and quietly notched an arrow in place, lining it up to where the sound came from and pulling it back tight. Instead of an enemy stepping into view, they watched as Sapnap walked out instead and quickly threw his hands up at the sight of an arrow being pointed straight at his face.
"What the fuck River!" He cursed letting his arms fall down.
Sighing they relaxed the string and put their bow away. They turned a light glare his way "Well don't fucking sneak up on me." Shaking their head with a small smile they turned back to look at the small country and watched as everyone was slowly making their way back indoors.
"Well I was trying to come get you for dinner, but maybe I'll leave you out here to starve." He smiled at the frown that quickly came to their face.
"Don't even joke about that, I'm so hungry right now." The two of them slowly started making their way back to the SMP, but not before the sound of loud obnoxious yelling caught River's ears. Turning back they saw a blonde boy making his way to a dingy metal van and began beating on its door, he seemed pissed about something. Rolling their eyes they muttered a quiet curse. "Kids."
Sapnap laughed as they finally caught back up with him. "Thought you'd be used to it, what with having to live with George for years." He snickered, handing them half a loaf of bread. They grabbed it and took a big bite, glad to finally have something in their stomach.
"He's not as annoying to me as he is to you, hate to break it to you." They looked up at him to see him scoff and take his own bite. The walk back went a lot faster as they had each other to talk to and before they knew it they were back home. Sapnap opened the door and River followed quickly behind, heading off to their room to drop their stuff off.
"River! Come eat!" Dream yelled from the kitchen.
"I am! Just give me a second!" After taking all their armor off they sighed in relief, stretched their joints and headed back out to meet everyone in the kitchen. Dream and George were already sitting and eating so River went and grabbed their own helping of veggie stew. A sense of nostalgia washed over them as they looked down in the pot.

They could hear quiet whispers from the spot on the couch they were lead to as they pulled the blanket around them closer.
"What should we make?" The one with glasses whispered as he looked through the cabinets, checking what there was to cook.
The guy with the mask leaned against the counter. "Well it should be something warm since they're soaking wet and cold." After they quietly decided on something, they began cooking.
Going back to their own thoughts, they tried to remember what they could. They remember waking up surrounded by water and hands touching them. Then the panic it brought on, but as the boy with the white bandana began speaking calmly and explained that he was going to wrap their head, they quietly allowed him to do what he needed. Bandana boy, Goggles, and Smiley face were quiet the entire walk except to explain that they were taking them somewhere warm and safe. They tried to think of what happened before but there was nothing. No home, no family, no name, nothing. They could feel the panic start to rise again, there was nothing they could tie themselves back to.
A soft hand on their back made them jump and look up at Smiley face as he slowly brought a bowl into their view. "Here this should warm you up a bit." He carefully set it in their hands and moved to sit in the chair near their right. The other two walked over and sat down on their left, careful to give them some space. Looking down in their hands they felt the steam of the stew warm the cold left from the river. Glancing up they noticed the three boys were staring at them holding their own bowls, waiting. So bringing up the spoon they took their first sip and immediately felt tears come to their eyes.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Goggles quietly reached over and laid a hand on their back.
"I'm not sure," sniffling they rubbed at their eyes. Still, no matter how hard they rubbed, the tears wouldn't stop. "this just feels so familiar." At that point someone had taken the bowl from their hands and slowly wrapped their arms around them. They leaned into it and pulled themselves closer into the hug, crying into a green hoodie.
"It's ok, you have time. You'll remember." He rubbed soothing circles into their back as they continued to sob. Then more arms made their way into the hug and the sobs slowed. "We'll be here for you, as long as you need."

"I knew you were hungry but I didn't expect you to cry over it." The sudden voice beside them made them quickly wipe their face, turning to see Sapnap giving them a concerned smile as he set a hand on their back.
"Don't laugh at me," they sighed. "I was just thinking about the day you guys found me. This is what you guys made me." They smiled up at him and wrapped an arm around his waist, giving him a half hug. He sighed and rested his head on top of their's, squeezing them back.
"I wasn't laughing, I just wanted to make sure you were-"
"Come on guys, we're almost done eating. Join us at the table already." George yelled over to them. Letting go and stepping back River gave Sapnap a small smile before heading to the other room to join the other boys. Taking the seat next to George they quickly began eating from their bowl. Halfway through the meal Dream set his spoon down and looked at everyone.
"I talked to Wilbur today." That made everyone stop and look up at him. "They're not backing down, so we're going to have to do something about it." Everyone nodded their heads and the room went quiet. So they were really doing this then. They were going to bring L'Manburg down.
