(Y/n) smiled at Izuku as he flagged down a server, signaling he was ready to pay. The waitress from earlier quickly made her way over to their table, Deku obviously taking priority over her other patrons. Before even given the bill, he pulled out his wallet, humble and worn-out with a hole in the corner, and fingered through the many, many bills that resided inside. He looked to be in thought, doing quick math before pulling out several 10,000 yen bills and handing it to the young waitress.

(Y/n) could get a better look at her this time around. She seemed around (Y/n)'s age. They may even go to school together.

"Only two of these are for the meal. The rest is for you," Izuku smiled at her.

"Deku–! Thank you so much!" The waitress looked beyond surprised at the large tip she just received, bowing to the hero. (Y/n) was also shocked as well, not even able to imagine the ability to just shrug off a couple thousand yen at the drop of a hat. Izuku turned back to his date, still holding his kind smile.

"You ready?"

(Y/n) neutralized her expression, not wanting her astonishment to offend, and nodded.

As she and Izuku made their way to the entrance of the restaurant, she noted how he pulled a medical mask out of his back pocket, along with a beanie. He placed the mask on his face and pulled the hat over his foresty hair before the two stepped outside. (Y/n) was staring up at him and didn't see the biker that almost ran into her. Izuku pulled her out of the way just in time, puddled rainwater splashing their feet as the man on the bicycle road by.

He chuckled, the corners of his eyes crinkling with a smile that was hidden by his mask. "Careful," he uttered, giving her shoulder a light squeeze as he pulled her closer to him. (Y/n)'s stomach bubbled at just how close he suddenly seemed. It wasn't until she felt his other hand steadily make its way to her own when she inhaled a sharp breath. He didn't hear that gasp, did he? She glanced down between them, watching as Izuku carefully interlaced their fingers. His hand was much larger than her own, and his fingers were calloused and scarred. (Y/n)'s hands were getting rather sweaty from her nerves, and she fought the instinct to pull away from him.

"Lead on," Izuku chimed with a grin under his mask. (Y/n) didn't look up at him. She didn't think she could handle eye contact right now. Holding hands was more than enough, especially with Izuku glancing at her like that as they walked in the direction of her apartment.

At least the rain stopped, she thought, looking up at the sky. The clouds were moving north, and the sun set hours ago. Izuku was quiet for a majority of the walk, maybe to keep from blowing his cover. (Y/n) felt his eyes on her from time to time, though. He never let go of her hand, especially when they passed through crowded areas. His height gave him an advantage in not only weaving through the nightlife of the city but also making sure (Y/n) never strayed too far from him, which she didn't.

It was a good, proper first date, and he was a good, proper gentleman.

"This is, uh, me," (Y/n) said, stopping in front of a small apartment in the university district of the city.

Izuku stood next to her, looking up at the building. "You're a student?"

(Y/n) nodded, unsure of his tone. "Sorry, is... That bad?"

Izuku looked at her, dismissing her worry by putting his hands up in front of him and shaking his head. "No, not at all! I just didn't know."

"You're welcome to come in," (Y/n) shrugged, unlocking the communal door to the apartment. Izuku suddenly felt like a virgin again.

"Oh. Okay."

"My rooms on the third floor. I lucked out and didn't get a roommate this year," she told Izuku, who was walking behind her. It was easier to talk to him when she wasn't looking at him.
