Yuno was nearly about to say the same thing Noelle said out loud.
He gaped at Asta's words.
Run from me? Tired of him?
He was astounded when Asta claimed he wasn't going to 'run away' from the sight of him, but then again, it may be true. The conversation where Noelle upfront asked Asta if he were to run away again from seeing Yuno, left him cut deep. Why would she even mention that? Is Asta truly avoiding him?
This mind boggling means of information overwhelmed him, especially coming from the person he cared most. What has Asta meant by Yuno getting tired of him? He couldn't wrap things around it. Sure, it was true he hadn't been able to see Asta, whenever he thought he caught glimpses of him in town; it could be true that he ran as he never did end up finding him. He tried to steady his breath which was now thrumming hard against his chest. Eager to hear every word clearly as possible, he leaned against the wall, seeming casual, listening hard.

Asta let out a deep sigh, "I see how cold he gets these days, even when I try to greet him. It's as though he isn't pleased to be around me anymore. I don't blame him though," Asta gave a small laugh before continuing. "After being around a prestigious squad, of course you see others differently, especially those who are totally cut out for that kind of thing ."
"Oh, Asta-"
"Noelle, these thoughts I've been having are sort of realisations . . . I've been remembering them recently and I clearly see Yuno's attitude whenever I'm around . . . I mean, he's always like that, but-"
"Asta, you can't be sure-"
"Oh, I'm sure. There are so many scenes of this. I can't believe I've dismissed it all, hoping it weren't true. So, it's because of that, I just want to give Yuno some space. Let him have some free space so he wouldn't get too annoyed with my presence. It happened before when we were younger; he would want to be in quiet places sometimes without anyone around, but I'm sure now he would want it longer."
"Asta-"
"I don't want to ruin our friendship, Noelle. If being around Yuno gets him annoyed, then I'll take a step back, meaning I'll walk the other direction if I see him outside."
"Sounds a lot like running from him." Noelle stated.
Asta looked down at his ice cream, giving a sad lick. "No, it isn't. I'll meet him, I won't run forever. We'll meet soon, just let him be, you know? I don't know for how long, but I feel comfortable knowing his annoyed or cold-blooded expressions weren't caused by me. So, we'll meet soon, just not yet . . ." he smiled reassuringly.
"Uh, huh." Noelle, nodded, understanding.

He couldn't take it. Yuno couldn't believe how much miscommunication they've had. Asta misunderstood everything so much. He didn't know the internal struggle Asta had. A misconception. They needed to talk. He needs to talk. He had the sudden urge to display himself in front of Asta, demanding they talk. A hidden rage licked his insides. Unknown to him of this feeling, he couldn't stomach the idea of how wrong Asta was. He left at an inopportune moment, while he heard the hushed murmurs of Noelle's and Asta's discussion, thinking of cornering him tomorrow to talk.
Walking the opposite direction back to his base, he missed the moment that would tick him off completely.

"Asta, if this makes you feel better, I would like you to know that other people care about you," Noelle said, trying not to squirm much on the bench.
