"Seokjin, let's end this now."

It came out of nowhere. I thought we were good together...

I spent two years of my life with Jiu but we're ending it like this? Without any warnings?

"Why?"

It was the only word that escaped my lips but beyond it were questions I can't even phrase. This all feel untrue...

She refused to look me in the eye. She's trying her best to look away.

She cleared her throat before giving an answer, "My parents are getting a divorce. I have to live in my grandparent's home in Daegu." She said coldly.

"But Jiu, you're just moving! We can still make this work!" I feel desperate. I don't want to let her go just because of distance.

Jiu shook her head, this time I can see tears forming in her eyes, "We can't and I don't want to waste your time... I don't want --" She sighed deeply. "You can't change my mind anymore... I- I just don't love you enough to continue this."
She stood up abruptly from the wooden bench and head towards the door of their house but before getting in, she stopped and said, "I'm sorry. I truly am."

I stayed sitting there still confused at what happened. Part of me hopes that this was all a prank or a dream so I stayed there for three hours more... but she did not came out.

Reality hit me when my siblings came to fetch me. It was then that I realized that it was night time.

"Hyung! Why won't you answer your calls?" Namjoon asks me with a concerned look.

Eunkyung approached me, studying my face, "Why did you cry oppa?"

Our two brothers gasp. I myself didn't notice that I have been crying for a long time.

I muster up a smile and wiped whatever was left of those tears, "I guess I was dumped. Let's go home."

The moment I stood up was the moment I finally realized something was wrong, "Who told you I was here?"

Sure they know who Jiu was but I never once told my family about where she lives.

"It was Jiu eonnie." Eunkyung didn't even hesitated.

What does this mean? Does she still care for me after all?

Jiu, I still don't believe that you don't love me anymore. I'll make sure... to change your mind. I might not know your reason but I will do my best to wait for you.

That was what I said but the day after that I found out they already moved out of her father's house. I still held on to my promise for a few years until it faded.

I tried to start relationships with other girls but just when I feel that they're starting to fall for me, I stop. I was terrified of the idea of loving each other and losing one another in an instant.

Sigh... Maybe love and relationships are not for me.

It was Jiu's first day of work here but I can see that she's really used to working these kinds of jobs. She's doing a good job in dealing with customers and she managed to remeber our menu in a day.

"Seokjin, bill for table 7 please." Jiu said while carrying a tray full of food.

"Right."

It was a busy day but never once I heard her complain even though it is visible to see the fatigue in her face.

The door opened again and Daesong came in with Eunji in tow.

"Eomma!" The little boy came running towards his mother.

Jiu's face changed completely. A smile formed in her lips while she welcomed her son with open arms.

Is this what having a kid do to someone?

"Eomma, I like my new school! Look, the kids welcome me with letters!" The kid was so excited.

"Great job Daesong! See, I told you you'll make new friends here." Jiu lightly brushed Daesong's hair.

"Eomma, can I do my homework here? I... I don't want to be a bother to Eunji noona. " Daesong gave a small pout and a face I don't think I can resist. The kid is just too cute.

"But Daesong-"

"It's all right." I quickly interrupted. "We don't have much customers anyway." I looked at the empty table by one of the windows and pointed at it. "You can use that table Daesong."

"Seokjin..." Jiu walked towards me with heavy footsteps, "You shouldn't do that for me. Your staff might misinterpret."

I grinned at her, "What are you saying? I'm not doing it for you, I'm doing it for your son. And besides, my staff doesn't think that way at all."

Jiu stood there speechless until Daesong came to us, "Thank you mister."

The boy then turned to his mother, "Eomma, don't worry... I'll do my homework on my own and I won't bother you."

Jiu smiled at him as a response before he proceeded to the table and started to unpack some books and his planet-themed pencil case.

"You have an amazing boy Jiu. You raised him well."

Daesong's POV

"Finally! I'm finally done cleaning!"

I caught my mom cheer in the living room after I finished eating dinner. It was one of her days off from Mr. Kim's restaurant.

I can finally spend time with eomma.

I came towards my mom hoping we can now watch the television when something caught my eye, "What are you looking at eomma?"

"Oh, just a few photos when I was in highschool. Isn't eomma pretty?"

I haven't seen eomma smile like that before. Maybe she's happy to see her younger self.

Huh? Is that?

"Eomma, is that Mr. Kim?! Why is he there?"

"Oh, we're classmates back then." I saw my mother get flustered and she immediately closed the photo album. "Come on, let's watch some TV before we get ready for bed."

Eomma is weird today...
