Soldiers P.O.V
Watching Blade take apart that rat Byte did nothing for me. Especially once her name left his lips. I'll be damned if anything happens to my sister again. I know I don't know everything that happened to her when she was with that sick fuck Chad.
But what I do know from her and what I just heard from him, my stomach starts to roll. In a instant I am in fight or flight mode and the need to protect my sister is raging in my veins like venom.
I turn away without a word to Viking or Rage. I storm out of the basement, slamming the door behind me as I search for my sister.
I find Jaylen and Lottie-Mae talking to each other. Going back and forth about what they can do or need to do to get my sister to open the door.
Jaylen starts to bang on the door and say, "Open the door Myra. We are here for you boo. I know its overwhelming. But don't shut us out. "
Lottie-Mae is crying into her hands not sure what to say or do to help. In the next breathe Jay says, "I'll skin them alive, if they even try to touch you. That is a promise I swear to you."
Stepping from the door she wraps her arms around Lottie-Mae, whispering 'It'll be okay'
Then muttering,' That she will kick Angeliques ass for all of this'
I step in front of the door. Knocking on it as well as I hear the wails of my sister on the other side of the door. Her crying breaks my heart. I love my sister with everything that I al. I will always protect her and even more now after everything that has happened to her.
In the softest voice I can muster I say "My I know wont let him get to you or the girls. My brothers will stand with me and protect you. That day I found you.." My breath caught in my throat as the vision of her comes to mind. She doesn't say a word to me. But her crying turned into hiccups.
Taking a shaky breath as I try to compose myself and block out the visions of my sister barely breathing and beaten. I say ," Come on My, let me in. He is not going to get you. I made you a promise sis. The brothers and I will protect you." Resting my head against the door. She doesn't say a word, but I can still hear the faint sound of her crying.
I didn't hear him, but I see Rage in the corner of my eye. I look over, as he gives me that look. The one saying we need to talk, now. I nods my head back at him. I figured this would happen. When I had told Rage a year ago that I needed to take care of my sister for a little bit, he never questioned the why. I owe it to him to know what is coming our way. Solemnly I bow my head and we walk to the office in silence.
He walks in first and I follow right behind him. He walks over to the desk .I pull out the chair to sit in front of his desk and sits down. I feel like this situation is all on me. Had I of taken care of him, when I had the chance. Then we wouldn't be dealing with all of this. My sister wouldn't be crying by herself in her room. With that thought I plop down, feeling the weight of everything heavy on my shoulders. Making a big thud, as weight comes down on the chair and causing the chair to creak.
He sits forward with his elbows resting on his knees and his face in his hands. He sits back up after a few minutes and runs his hands through his hair. Whatever it is that he has to say, already has me on edge, just from what Byte had said. His reaction to the situation right now is just adding to it. I can feel the anxiety, stress and anger coming off him in waves. I have known about how close he is to Myra, since we met all those years ago. I remember how upset he was when he hadn't ha any contact with her for years. Then when he finally did, it was him getting her to bring her here.
