Kreacher tried and he tried but he could not destroy the Horcrux locket.

He hid the locket carefully in the many raggy blankets that occupied the little cabinet/den, behind the dingy door that Kreacher slept in. He was dejected that he couldn't do one thing his master Regulus had told him to do. But he had tried with all the strong elf magic, but it didn't seem to have any effect on the locket whatsoever.

Kreacher went back to the kitchen and busied himself with work.

'' Kreacher!'' Walburga sneered from the Regulus' room.

Crack.
''Mistress called Kreacher, what can Kreacher do for his Mistress?''

Her face was stone cold with anger flashing behind her ice-cold grey eyes.'' Where is Regulus?''

Kreacher frowned, his master Regulus' had forbidden him not to tell Mistress or Master Orion anything about what happened few hours prior and he would never disobey his young master. '' Kreacher apologizes to his Mistress, Kreacher is not knowing where young master Regulus is.'' he lied.

Walburga's face was now red with anger. Her eyes seem to have a fire to them. Fire of anger. Then her expression changed. She looked... scared. Whatever happens, a women like Walburga would never let her emotion show on the outside. Defintely not panic or fear. Ever.

 -

The Veritaserum Regulus had been under was now wearing off slowly. The Order members were still there. Dumbledore was also still there. They were talking to each other in low voices while Sirius and Dumbledore were standing in a corner of the room, apart from the other occupants of the room, also talking in low voices. Sirius seemed to be arguing. Sirius always waved his hands around as to emphasize something he was saying and that mostly happened when he was arguing with someone.

Dumbledore looked over to the other people in the room and then at Sirius and gestured to the door leading to the small library or writing room, you could call it, and they both walked out of the lounge.

''Sirius, Regulus could be of great help for the Order-,'' Sirius cut Dumbledore off, '' -If you are suggesting that he goes back there and works as a spy for the Order then I'm sorry Dumbledore, but he is not going back there. Never in a million years.''

Dumbledore shook his head sighing to himself.

'' He can't go back there! I would never let him!'' Sirius half-yelled.

Dumbledore nodded casually.'' He does not have to go back. If that is what you think is best for him, Sirius, then he won't go back. But I suggest that we ask him first. We should ask him what he needs, Sirius.'' Sirius went over the thought then nodded. ''Ok. We can ask him. But he will not go back there.''

'' We will have no choice if he wishes to go,'' Dumbledore stated.

Sirius scoffed.'' Why would he want to go back!? Why would he want to step back in that house and work for the maniac our beloved parents work for!? My brother nearly died because of them! Because of him! Did you not hear what Reg said!? If Vol- You-Know-Who sees him he would fucking kill him for what he did! He would fucking hunt him down and kill him! Don't you understand that!?''

Dumbledore didn't say anything just looked Sirius over with his piercing blue eyes.

Sirius just huffed angerily and walked out of the room, back to the lounge where everyone was still seated. Regulus was staring at his hands that rested in his lap.

''Regulus,'' Sirius spoke and all the people in the room looked towards him, including Regulus, who's eyes were bloodshot and, in all honesty, looked miserable and raised a eyebrow at him urging him to continue, '' I -we- want to ask you something, and please, answer this carefully.'' he said looking over at Dumbledore who was no standing beside him.

Regulus looked at him with confusion obscuring his features.

'' Do you want to go back to... Number 12?'' Sirius just prayed that he would just say no.

Regulus froze at the question but quickly got over the initial shock and pondered his answer for a moment. There was no way he was going to go back to absolute hell. And also, considering that he now, has his older brother back and if he did go back, Voldemort would just kill him or torture him until his soul leaves him or he gets trapped in his own body. The answer was pretty obvious. ''No.''

Sirius let out a sigh of relief. Regulus was not going back.

Dumbledore cleared his throat and Sirius sighed quietly. '' Mister Black, would you want to join the Order Of The Pheonix, as of now you have rechosen your side?''

Well that was rather straight forward, Regulus mused to himself. He was already shaking his head. Regulus did not want to work for either of them, not Voldemort, not Dumbledore. He just... he didn't want to work for anyone. Yes, he was now on the good and valid side, but he just didn't want to work for the man Sirius was working for. He never really liked Dumbledore anyway so why even join a resistance leaded by him? ''I'd rather not,'' he said simply.

Dumbledore didn't push, he just nodded and smiled a petite smile. ''Very well.''

Sirius stepped forward.'' We have to keep him safe,'' he said to Dumbledore.

'' I will do everything in my power to do that, Mister Black.''

Sirius looked unsure but didn't comment.

You see, Sirius wasn't very fond of Dumbledore. Sure, he was working for him but he was only doing that because he wanted to fight. This is a war, a war that he wants to fight. And fight for the good side. Which so happened to be Dumbledores side. From the day the marauders met, they didn't even have to pick a side because they already knew which they belonged on. Sirius and James wanted to become aurors. Remus wanted to become a professor and Peter...well, he was willing to do what his friends were to do. And sure enough, in their third year they came to know that there is a Resistance, started and led by Dumbledore, which is for anyone who is willing to fight for good. That was all they needed. In their seventh year, Dumbledore had inquired them if they wanted to join after they graduate. James was quick to say yes. Remus did too. Peter also agreed. Lastly Sirius was left who, after a moment of silence, agreed with a very quite, almost non-existent sigh, he was happy and proud to be able to be a part of the Order but there was something in back of his mind telling him to say no. He didn't though. He never said no. Sirius himself didn't know where the mistrust came from but it was there, that small bit of mistrust was always there.

Though, he didn't dislike Dumbledore, he actually quite liked his bravery and all, he liked him because he was a Gryffindor too, even admired him at one point. But there were times he didn't agree with the older man. He couldn't really ask himself why because he didn't had a answer to that. That's just how Sirius is.

' I will keep him safe,' Sirius told himself.

A/N:
hi all, i know this is a short chapter. since y'know i have exams in a week, and now i also have a tutor so i won't get the time to write long chapters or such so i have decided to split a chapter into 2 or 3 parts, so basically one part of a chapter would be of 1k words more or less and the same for the other parts of that one chapter, if that makes sense? i hope it does.

have a good day :)
