It was a peaceful day in Axle City. It was the day of the Autumn Day Carnival. Blaze, AJ and Sparkle had been riding rides all day, and Sparkle couldn't ask for a better day with her big brothers.

"Wa-hoo!!" she giggled as they jumped off the bouncy castle. "That was FUN!! What's next?!"

"Woah, woah, easy there Sparkle," Blaze chuckled. "We've rode in almost all the rides already,"

"Oh, hey, isn't that Crusher and Pickle?" AJ pointed over to the pair at the ducky game.

"I think so." Blaze nodded and smiled. "Let's go say hi!"

"Okay!"

The siblings drove and headed over to the duo. There, Pickle and Crusher were fishing at the ducky game. Crusher was trying to get a fish but kept missing.

"Come on...!!"

"Ooh, so close!" Pickle hissed as he watched the fishing pole miss again.

"Hi, guys!" Blaze greeted. "How's the game going?"

"What does it look like?" Crusher grumbled.

"You want some help?" Sparkle asked sweetly.

"Eh, sure," Crusher sighed. "It's not like I'm getting any better, anyway,"

He moved aside and let the little truck help. Sparkle got the fishing pole and swung it down towards the duckies. Almost in an instant, the string got a rubber duckie.

"I got it!"

"Of course she did..." Crusher muttered under his breath. "Typical win-a-lot..."

"That's amazing, Sparkle!" AJ beamed.

"Congrats!" Blaze cried.

"Here you go, Crusher," said Sparkle, handing him the duck. "You were trying to win the game first, so you should have it."

"Thanks..." Crusher gave a smile.

"Hey, I got one too!" Pickle cheered, lifting the duck.

"Way to go, Pickle!" Blaze cheered.

"So you think Mom and Dad would wanna join us?" Sparkle asked.

"When they get here? Most likely," AJ spoke.

"Where are they, anyway?"

"They said something about an emergency," Blaze replied. "A... magical emergency,"

"Magical emergency?" Crusher repeated.

"Eh, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about," Blaze assured them.

Suddenly, a roar echoed through the carnival, followed by some screaming.

"That doesn't sound like nothing to worry about!" Pickle shrieked. "What was that?!"

They all glanced up and gasped to see red and orange phoenixes and icy blue dragons ransacking the carnival, scaring the other trucks, who all ran for their lives.

"Oh no... the war is starting!" Blaze gasped.

"War? What war?!" Pickle asked.

"Blaze! Sparkle! AJ! Over here!"

They all glanced up to see Phoenix and Flame approach them.

"Mom, Dad! Why are the other phoenixes and the ice dragons fighting with each other?" Sparkle asked. "They haven't fought for years!"

"Yes, we know, we know," Phoenix sighed. "It doesn't seem right, doesn't it?"

"What is happening here?!" Pickle practically screeched.

"A war, from what I can see," Crusher hissed.

"Come on," Flame told his wife. "We need to airlift the kids to safety."

"Airlift? W-What are they talking about?" Crusher asked.

Flame and Phoenix closed their eyes, and Crusher and Pickle gasped to see them transform into phoenixes, with Flame being yellow with orange flame-lit wings while Phoenix was white with red and yellow flame-lit wings.

Crusher was about to scream, but Blaze placed a tire over his mouth. "Crusher, we need you to stay quiet. If you scream, the ice dragons will find us and we'll be phoenix popsicles! Do you understand?"

Crusher nodded, and as soon as Blaze took his tire away, he and his siblings were grabbed by their mother.

"Okay, you two, you're up!" Flame said, grabbing them before they all flew off.

"GAH!" Crusher yelped as they took off to the skies.

"WHEEE!!" Pickle cheered with a giggle. "This is fun!"

"Fun?! Blaze, what is going on?!" Crusher cried out.

"We'll explain everything, Crush! Mom, Dad! Head for the forest caves!"

"On it!"

Phoenix and Flame nodded and flew down towards the forest immediately. They soon made it to a forest cave and headed inside.

"Phew... too close for comfort," AJ sighed as Phoenix and Flame turned back to normal. "Now, for an explanation."
