Prompt 1: "Pull over. Let me drive for a while."

--

The occasional light from the streetlights continuously illuminated Logan who was sitting in the driver's seat and Virgil watched as his husband drummed his fingertips against the steering wheel to the beat of the low music that was playing on the radio.

Logan yawned and Virgil stretched slightly. They'd been sitting in the car for hours, on their way to a hotel where they would stay one night before continuing their drive to Logan's parents who had invited them for christmas.

It was already late, nearing eleven, and Virgil didn't like how often Logan was yawning or how tired he looked in the orange-y light from outside. Virgil didn't really enjoy driving, which is why he usually didn't, but Logan looked like he needed to nap for the remaining hour that they needed to drive, and Virgil had already napped earlier.

"Pull over. Let me drive for a while." He said, breaking the silence that had stretched out between them for the past twenty minutes or so, and Logan glanced quickly at him, eyes then returning to the road.

"There's only about an hour left, I'll be fine, V, you don't have to." Logan reassured, but Virgil placed his hand gently on top of Logan's on the steering wheel.

"I want to, you're tired and you deserve a break. I'll drive the rest of the way." He said and watched as Logan contemplated for a few seconds, but the tiredness must have won because he gave in rather quickly.

"Alright," Logan said, showing a shadow of a smile and beginning to slow, pulling to the side of the road, "thank you."

"Course."

The car came to a stop and Logan unbuckled his belt, looking at the side-view mirror to make sure no other cars were approaching before stepping outside, despite there having been no other car on the road for at least fifteen minutes.

Virgil got out too, meeting Logan halfway around the car and reaching out for him, wrapping his arms around his husband's neck, their noses brushing slightly.

"Hi." Logan said, looking tired but also smiling, his hands coming to rest on Virgil's waist as he leaned in to press a soft kiss to Virgil's mouth.

They lingered slightly in each other's arms before getting into the car again, Virgil now in the driver's seat, putting his seatbelt on and beginning to drive once Logan was sitting safely.

"Get some rest, L." Virgil reached out, resting his hand on Logan's thigh for just a few seconds, giving him a small squeeze before properly holding onto the steering wheel again.

"I'll sleep once we get to the hotel." Logan insisted, turning the radio up slightly and leaning back in his seat.

Virgil could see him suffocating a yawn in the corner of his eye and he smiled to himself, knowing very well that no matter how stubborn his husband was he would be asleep in mere minutes.
