Chapter 2 We're in Twilight Zone

Ayla's POV

It is 4:37am, my siblings are asleep in our Parents bedroom.
I remember the story mother and father told us every night about Mount Ebott.
Suddenly I get snapped out of my thoughts and I smell smoke, I quickly grab my bag and run to a window and I look outside; People are dying due to my mother's barrier spell.
'I don't like seeing people die and why are they trying to get to us?' I then grab my jacket and shoes, I run up stairs and I enter my parents bedroom.
I run to my siblings and I wake them up "get up! We need to go!" They listen and get out of bed.
I grab their bags and run around the house packing our things.
They come downstairs as I am in the kitchen packing food and some water.
I then hand over the 2 larger bags to my sisters and I carry Chase's after helping him put on his cute jacket (that I gave him on his birthday in September).
We then go out the back-door and sneak out of the barrier spell before it -some how- broke.
We then run into the forest that surrounds our small country town and suddenly I hear a loud BOOM!
It sent us to the ground, I get up and help my siblings up while checking if they are okay.
I look at our home and it is on fire, they destroyed our home, our memories and the last remains of our Parents.
Raven is angered by this, her hands glow red and her eyes are flaming.
I grab her shoulders and squeeze "Raven, calm down, there is no point" she looks at me and tears finally prick her Ruby red eyes.
Chase hugs her and Isa joins, I do too since we all need to support, comfort and protect eachother.
We separate from our hug and start walking again.
I hold Chase as he falls asleep resting his head on my shoulder, Raven silently sobs while holding onto dad's cloak, Isa drags a stick she found 'she must really miss them' I think to myself.

Isa's POV

As we walk, I drag a stick behind me 'why does this have to happen before my birthday?' I think to myself.
Suddenly a pain shoots through my left thigh, I scream and fall.
Ayla runs over, Chase isn't in her arms as she picks me up (Bridal Style).
I look over to Raven who has Chase and I sigh, Ayla and Raven both start running.
I feel pain spread through-out my body and darkness covers the corner of my vision.
I fall unconscious due to pain... or blood loss?

Raven's POV

I carry Chase as I run, soon we reach a tree with a large hollow out middle and I point to it, Ayla nods and we climb inside (it is a large tree, big enough to be a teenager's secret base).
I lean against a wall and I cuddle Chase as a fall asleep.

Ayla's POV

I lie Isa down and she is badly hurt.
I take out my first-aid kit and I remove the bullet from her leg, I clean the wound and I sigh.
I pull up my sleeves and I place my hands above her wound, I close my eyes and I quickly open them as my body shifts into a different form.
I'm in my goat form but I still have my brown hair, I focus my magic on my sister's wound, she slowly heals and I smile.
Soon the wound is healed, I get tired and my body shifts again, this time I'm a skeleton with my lovely brown hair.
I smile and hold my sister as I sit up and slowly fall asleep.

~later~

We get up and we walk again after Eating, drinking and re-packing our bags.
The sun isn't very high so it is still early.
I grasp the heart locket around my neck, a photo of my family is inside, I'm still a skeleton as we walk up Mount Ebott.
The bushes hide us well as people try to find us.
Chase holds my hand and plays with the fluff on his jacket 'heh, such a cute little kid, you remind me of mum and dad' (yes I'm Australian).
(Got a problem? Deal with it!)
We reach a rocky wall, I sigh "Chase, do your thing, I'll be down here if you fall" he looks at me and smiles.
Chase shifts easily into his skeleton form and summons a skeleton puppy (gaster blaster but I don't find this out until later), Chase climbs onto his "pet" and flies to up the rocky wall to the cliff, he smiles once there and he waits.
I look at Raven "go on up, I know you can climb, dad taught you after all" she nods and starts climbing.
Raven reaches the top safely and I grab Isa's hand, she loo,s at me "are you sure, Ayla Chan?" (Oh I hate that nickname, she is a fan of anime) I nod.
I teleport us both to the cliff and we sit down, we eat a few things and relax.
Raven tells some jokes, Isa tries to do some magic and Chase plays with his puppy (he named it).
This is just like old times...

~FLASHBACK~

I sit under a tree making flower crowns while Mum teaches Isa how to use magic, Dad teaches Raven combat, defence etc. And Chase is playing with Puppy.
Chase looks at me and runs over, he then grabs a flower crown and puts it on Puppy "p-p..." I wait for him to say it "pwetty... puppy" (he said pretty, puppy is easy for him to say, dog isn't though, dunno why).
I smile and Dad goes inside "I hear the house phone ringing, be right back!" Isa runs over and messes up Chase's hair "How is my little prince doing?" (I hate her with her nicknames for everyone and everything).
Mum walks inside and Puppy soon disappears, Raven walks over and climbs the tree.
I smile and Chase climbs into my lap, I slowly fall asleep.

I wake and Mum is tucking me into bed "protect your siblings while we're gone, okay?" I nod, I fell into a lovely dream where I learn about different Alternative Universes (also known as AU's).

I wake up feeling sudden Anxiety, I look around the dark room.
I can hear Chase crying and I ran out of my room and I enter our Parents bedroom where he sleeps, I pick him up and hold him close "it's okay, I'm here" I say trying to soothe him the best I can.
Then Raven walks in with Isa who is holding the house phone "Ayla, it is for you" I take the phone, I'm only 24 hours older than Isa and Raven.
I put the phone to my ear "hello?" There is a strange siren in the background "hello, is this Ayla ######, daughter of Kitty #### and Dazlager ######?" I feel my anxiety act up again "y-yes..." tears prick my eyes.
I look at my sisters, they seem to know what I'm feeling being connected as triplets "I have some bad news..." that is when we found out our Parents are dead... no... were killed.

~END FLASHBACK~

I start crying and Isa hugs me "it's okay, Ayla Chan" I hug her back "thanks, Buttercup" (she hates that nickname I gave her).
Isa crosses her arms over her chest and pouts "don't call me that!" I laugh and mess up her hair "whatever you say, Runt" (another nickname, but it is an insult too since she is the runt).
I look up to the top of the mountain "we better continue if we want to reach the top by sundown" Isa nods, Raven rolls her eyes and Chase holds my hand.

We climb up the mountain, we help eachother by using our magic (both on purpose and by accident), I make everyone angry by almost napping on a small ledge and by midday we are starving.
I give out some food and we eat, then we rest for 15 minutes then continue.
I soon spot some people following, I focus and I move a log over a cliff and it knocks over the people, a few get back up.
I grab my siblings and teleport to a ledge, I fall to my knees gasping for air and from exhaustion due to how much magic I used to teleport us a far distance.
We are almost at the top, just as planned... mum and dad told me their plan in case anything were to happen to them when humans turned against us.

We reach the top, we go to the edge of a cliff and look at the country town... it is beautiful.
I look down below at the bottom of the long fall... there is a hole just like mum and dad had said.
I sigh "sorry..." green tears fill my eye sockets as I push my siblings off the cliff and I watch as they fall.
I look up at the sky one last time "goodbye..." suddenly something hits my back, I look at my chest and there is a hole in my clothes where my chest is and a lot of blood, green tears go down my cheek bones and I fall forward... off the cliff and into the hole...
