After the Research Division of the JTF discovered space flight with a help of magic (Technically it was Vesta was the one who did all the heavy lifting.) The JTF created Reactors that use magicules to give ships an almost unlimited amount of power the ships and it last for a long time.
Then the JTF colonized about 12 planets in different systems in the universe near and far and created hyperspace routes with the and stations acting as beacons for it to guide ships. Rimuru seeing an opportunity offered his 12 Patrons those planets which they humbly accept. That was the greatest move for him to have ever done, much less paperwork for him. Though his Wife Ciel did most of the work.
