Petra leaned her head on Jesse's shoulder, sighing as she watched the sunset. The two of them held hands interlocked with each other as their feet dangled off the edge of the dock. The place where they had first met each other.

As the sun started going below the horizon, the couple looked each other in the eyes. Petra lifted her head off of Jesse's shoulder before pressing her forehead to Jesse's. Their noses brushed against each other as they nuzzled lovingly. Petra chuckled softly, as they pulled away from each other.

"Remember the night we first met each other?" she asked her lover.

Jesse smiled and cupped her cheek, "How could I not? I met the love of my life that night!"

Jesse and Petra stared into each other's eyes as the nostalgic sound of the river flowing and crashing against the shoreline took over them. As a light breeze blew, the two of them were transported back to the night they first met at the dock.

-Flashback Starts-

Jesse sighed as he looked down into the river below. His hand gently pet the head of a little Reuben. The piglet rolled over in his sleep, causing Jesse to chuckle softly. He would always visit this spot with Reuben on occasion.

While the pair sat there, someone walked over and sat down a couple feet away from them. She had long ginger hair that was held out of her face by a blue bandanna. She wore a navy blue vest with one sleeve up and one down with a black shirt underneath and black shorts.

The girl looked down into the water, sighing at the sight of her reflection. She placed her chin on her fist while gently kicking her feet over the water. Jesse heard the girl muttering to herself, so he moved a little closer.

"What's the point? No one would care..." she muttered.

Jesse raised an eyebrow in confusion as she continued to talk to herself. She hadn't noticed he and Reuben were even there.

The girl sighed, "It's about time anyways... I've never had a reason to live..."

Jesse's eyes widened at what the girl was implying. He scooted a little closer and placed a hand on the girl's shoulder. This spooked the girl, causing her to jump a bit before looking over at him.

"Sorry for spooking you, but I couldn't help but overhear what you were saying," Jesse said softly.

The girl got flustered, "Well it's none of your business anyways! Stay out of my business!"

"Look, harming yourself isn't going to make you happy. And it's definitely not going to help your situation," Jesse remarked.

She glared at him, "No one loves me! No one's ever cared about me! Therefore, no one would miss me! I have no friends or family because they all left me!"

Jesse noticed the girl's eyes starting to become glossy. Without warning, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a hug. The ginger haired girl buried her head in his chest, balling her eyes out while sobbing. Jesse gently patted her back in an attempt to comfort her.

After a couple minutes, the girl pulled away from Jesse while sniffling. Jesse gently took a piece of cloth out of his inventory and gently wiped away the tears still rolling down her cheeks. Once she finally calmed down, she took a deep breath and looked up at Jesse.

"Thank you... um..." she said, pausing at the realization that she didn't know his name.

Jesse chuckled, "My name's Jesse, and you are?"

"P-Petra..." Petra answered, a slight blush taking over her cheeks.

He smiled, "Well Petra, it was very nice meeting you. Don't be a stranger, okay?"

"O-Okay..." Petra stuttered before getting up from the dock.

Jesse got up and gently grabbed her wrist. He blushed slightly as he got closer to her. They pressed their forehead against each other, the air around them becoming a bit warm. The pair leaned in close and closed their eyes. Soon, their lips locked in a passionate kiss.

The pair pulled away after a couple moments to gaze into each other's eyes. Petra's dark brown eyes were wide in awe as she stared into his emerald green ones. Jesse chuckled softly while letting go of her. The blush on Petra's face became brighter as she stuttered.

"I-I've gotta go!"

Jesse chuckled as Petra rushed off into the forest again. Reuben trotted over, giving his owner a confused look while tilting his head to the side. Jesse chuckled as he sat down and pat Reuben on the head.

"I don't think that's the last were going to see of her, bud"

-Flashback Ends-

Jesse sighed as he ran his fingers through Petra's hair. Petra closed her eyes and smiled while he did this. She crawled into his lap and leaned in close. Jesse smiled widely before leaning in and locking lips.

In the kiss, Jesse wrapped his arms around Petra's waist. Petra wrapped her arms around his neck, holding Jesse close. They savored the moment while they could, holding each other close as a familiar heat engulfed them. After a couple moments, the two pulled away, a light pink blush taking over both of their cheeks.

"I wonder what Reuben would think about this," Petra said before sighing sadly.

Jesse chuckled and cupped her cheek, "He'd be happy for us, that's for sure."

"Yeah... He would, wouldn't he?" Petra remarked.

Jesse smiled, "Yes, he would..."

Petra giggles as she leaned in and gave him a peck on the lips. The two of them smiled while staring deep into each other's eyes. They sat there for a while, embracing each other in the silence.

Of course, that silent moment didn't last forever. They heard one of their friends calling for them in the distance. The couple pulled away, Petra sliding off of Jesse's lap.

"Come on you two! We're waiting for you!" Axel shouted.

Jesse chuckled and shouted back, "Just a minute!"

"Better hurry, Axel's been staring down this food for a while now!" Olivia said teasingly.

The pair rolled their eyes before getting up onto their feet. Petra took a hold of Jesse's hand before leading him off to the campsite. They met back with the others, who had been waiting around the campfire. They took a seat on the empty log chair before engaging in conversation with their friends.
