Brendon woke with a start to the sound of something metal colliding with the wood floor and a few choice words being thrown around in the otherwise silent house.

There were a few times he heard Dallon curse, but it wasn't anything like the foul words that were being hurled around in what he assumed to be the living room.

It was 8 am, and he couldn't feel more trapped than he did when Ryan locked him in their bedroom for nearly a week. But then again, he wasn't locked in the room. Brendon could leave when he wanted, but he didn't want to leave the safety of the isolation.

Maybe facing Dallon would be better than thinking he would never be good enough for anyone, even as just friends. But, he just couldn't bring himself to do that because deep down, he knew he wasn't.

Brendon has a habit of pushing the good in his life away before the good could turn into something terrible. The people that were once good in his life either gave up when he pushed them away or became that terrible thing in his life. The ones who gave up so easily shouldn't have been a part of his life, to begin with, and the ones that became the terrible thing, well, they shouldn't have been a part of his life either, but they didn't want to leave.

No one deserved the life that Brendon had to live before his little adventure to Louisiana, but the universe was never kind to good people.

Brendon was pulled from his thoughts by the bedroom door being slowly pushed open, and a sheepish Dallon was poking his head around the frame. Maybe the universe was finally catching up. Perhaps this was his chance to speak with Dallon about what he felt. But then again, what would he do if he was rejected? Where would he go? He couldn't go back home.

"Good Morning," Dallon said with a sheepish smile and pushed the door open all the way, stepping closer to the bed. Brendon was left speechless and he was sure the look on his face was somewhere between perplexed and in awe when he saw that Dallon was holding a tray with breakfast and a single rose in a vase. Dallon took note of the expression and his sheepish smile turns into a genuine one before explaining himself. "I wanted to do something nice for you after last night, and I wasn't sure how long you'd be asleep, so I went to the shop down the way and -"

Dallon takes a deep breath and plops next to Brendon on the bed without spilling anything in the process. "What I mean to say is that I made you breakfast. I hope you like it."

Brendon didn't know what to make of the gesture and remained silent while looking over the taller man's features. He must've had the same look on his face because Dallon was laughing and that confused the hybrid even more. "W - Why are you laughing?"

"You're cute," Dallon said and pressed a soft kiss to the hybrids forehead. "Now eat."

How could he eat after something like that? Maybe it was a friendly kiss, but even then, it was still a kiss. Brandon was apparently blushing because his face felt warm. Dallon just kissed him...
