Things began to fall into an easy routine after a few weeks of Kaylee being with them. Brendon would get up, take a quick shower, get ready for the day, wake up Kylee and get her ready for preschool, make breakfast, then finally wake up Dallon.

It was tiring, but it all felt right.

Kylee has also brought Dallon and Brendon closer together, oddly enough.

Brendon couldn't sleep after his morning routine and a particularly rough work day at the diner, and Dallon was in the same situation but for a different reason. Neither of them knew why Dallon couldn't sleep. Perhaps it was that he felt something coming, something with a lot of energy. More than he had.

Dallon never told Brendon about the odd feeling, and instead kept his arms wrapped around his hybrid boyfriend. Although, there has been something else bothering him. "Hey, Bren?"

"Hmm?" Brendon was still awake but had his eyes closed.

Dallon could feel the vibration from Brendon's chest against his hands. "You know I was serious, right?"

That confused Brendon, causing an eyebrow to raise before slightly rolling over to look at Dallon. "About what?"

"When I said that we could have our own," Dallon whispered in Brendon's ear, reaching down to grab his inner thigh. He knew Brendon's heat cycle was close. It would be a perfect time. "I want you for eternity." His hand slowly moved up Brendon's shorts, causing the hybrid's air to catch in his throat. A soft mewl escapes Brendon's closed lips when Dallon's hand finally met its prey.

It was nearing 4 A.M and Brendon was still wide awake even after three hours of bouncing on his lover's dick. It helped with the heat urges, but it wasn't enough. He always hated this time of year. Nothing could ever satisfy his urges and needs. It wasn't that he didn't love Dallon or that he didn't deliver amazing sex, it was far from that. There was something wrong with Brendon and he knew it, but what, that he didn't know. Maybe it was just how hybrids are meant to be, or there was something wrong with him.

Brendon didn't know where to go for advice or answers because he didn't know that many hybrids. His mother is human, and so is his father. So, he couldn't ask them. He had a brother, but also a human. Maybe he could search the internet for some answers? But, would it give him the answers he needs or just a bunch of bullshit? He was ready to take that gamble at 4 A.M. He texted May to let her know that he wouldn't be able to make his shift for the next three days. He made up some excuse that Kaylee was sick and Dallon couldn't step away from the shop. Dallon and Kaylee were the only ones that knew he is a hybrid and he wanted to keep it that way. No matter how much a trusted May. In reality, he will be too exhausted in the next three days of his heat to return to work.

After the message was sent, Brendon pulled his laptop out and began searching for answers. Nothing valid came up after two hours of searching and he gave up as the sun began to rise. It was almost time to wake up Kaylee. Yet, there was one more thing he wanted to look up.

'Familiar and warlock laws.' He typed into the search engine and began scrolling. A few things caught his eye. 'Can Warlocks have familiars?' and 'Can a warlock gain a second familiar?' Brendon wasn't entirely if that disgusted or angered him more. He slams the laptop shut, waking Dallon. "Are you okay, Bren?" Dallon sleepily asked, wrapping his arm around Brendon's waist.

"I gotta wake up Kaylee," Brendon said coldly, not even moving Dallon's arm away and letting it fall as he got out of the bed. "You should get a shower."

"Wanna join me?" Dallon asked, getting out of bed. But it was too late, Brendon was already out of the room.
