Note: Flashback
“Mom… can I go outside?”
The small boy stood by the window, his tiny hands pressed against the cold glass. Outside, children laughed as they played in the snow—free, careless, alive.
He watched them with quiet longing.
Behind him, his mother’s eyes softened, her heart aching at the sight. But even so, she forced herself to stay firm.
“Later,” she said gently. “If everything’s okay.”
The same words.
Always the same words.
And even at six years old… he already knew they didn’t mean anything.
Still, he waited.
And waited.
Until waiting turned into years.
“I own this life! You can’t control me forever!”
The door slammed shut with a deafening bang, cutting off his mother’s desperate voice.
This time—he didn’t look back.
Something in him had changed.
The boy who used to wait by the window was gone.
In his place stood someone recklessly. Someone is tired of being caged.
From then on, he did whatever he wanted.
He stopped caring about expectations, about the family business—about everything they tried to mold him into.
Instead, he chose music.
Freedom.
Something that finally felt like his.
“Young Master, a package has arrived.”
The door opened without warning.
His head snapped up, irritation flashing instantly across his face.
“Are you new here?” he asked coldly. “Do you even know the rules?”
The maid froze, clutching the box tighter.
“No one enters my room without permission.”
Her head lowered quickly, cheeks burning. “I’m sorry, Young Master…”
He didn’t even spare her a second glance as he took the box from her hands.
“Get out. Now. Before I tell my mom to fire you.”
She rushed out immediately, leaving the room heavy with silence.
He exhaled, running a hand through his hair before glancing down at the package.
He didn’t even remember ordering anything.
A small note slipped out as he opened it.
I know you want to travel.
His brows furrowed.
Then—
he lifted the lid.
And froze.
A plane ticket.
To South Korea.
His heart pounded, excitement surging through him so suddenly it almost felt unreal.
Freedom.
An escape.
Finally.
But fate had its own plans.
