*Ladybug and Cat Noir meet up the next afternoon to talk, as promised*
Ladybug and Cat Noir just stand there looking at each other for a moment. Finally Ladybug spoke up, "Good job yesterday."
"Yeah, you too," Cat Noir didn't know what else to say and neither did Ladybug.
"Well, I think we should split up for patrol today. You take the West side of the Seine and I'll take the East," Ladybug turned about to leave.
"Wait!" Cat Noir blurted out. Ladybug turned to him, waiting for him to say something else.
"I know you don't want to talk about yesterday, but I need to talk to you about it," Cat Noir looked at her waiting for her to agree in someway.
Ladybug nodded asking Cat Noir, "What about yesterday do you want to talk about?"
Cat Noir took a deep breath, "Well. There's a lot but I want to know," Cat Noir paused, considering his words seriously, "Why did you kiss me back if you don't feel the same about me?" Ladybug was surprised, but she didn't know why. She had expected Cat Noir to ask this question, but still she found herself at a loss for words.
"I..." Ladybug stuttered "don't know." Ladybug looked down then back up. Cat Noir was staring at her
"M'lady? May I ask another question?" Cat Noir questioned looking straight at Ladybug. Ladybug didn't answer, so Cat Noir asked anyway, "What were you going to say last night? On the deck?"Ladybug still didn't answer, but she did talk.
"Cat Noir," She started, "I need you to know I never want to hurt you and".
Cat Noir cut her off , "M'lady how do you feel about me?"
"I don't know. I'm still in love with Ad... A different boy," Ladybug caught herself, smiling and rushing the last part like she always did when she almost gave something away.
Cat Noir looked at her and smiled, "Good to know. M'lady I would never want to hurt you either, you mean everything and more to me."
Ladybug's face turned bright red. "Oh, by the way did I look good in my tux yesterday?" Cat Noir smirked.
"You silly cat. Of course you did." Cat Noir looked at Ladybug, he hadn't expected her to answer back.
"I believe we didn't finish our dance M'lady," Cat Noir proclaimed, holding his hand out to her with the other one behind his back.
"Cat Noir. I don't think we..."
"Ah, come on Bugaboo." Ladybug glanced around her and then took Cat Noir's hand. They danced together for a while. Then Cat Noir stepped back to the edge of the roof. He bowed and then did a backflip off the roof. Ladybug watched as he used his baton to propel himself away from her.
*Back in Adrien's room*
"I do have a chance and I won't ruin it," Adrien sighed as he flopped down onto his bed.
"Sure kid, but she did say she still loved someone else," Plagg said calmly.
"That's why I need to work harder to win her over. I know we belong together! I just need her to see it too," Adrien said with such enthusiasm.
"Good luck kid, but can we have a cheese fest now?" Plagg nagged.
*Back in Marinette's room*
"Marinette, It's going to be okay," Tikki coaxed.
"No it's not once Adrien finds out I kissed Cat Noir he's going to hate me and never want to go to the movies with me. Which will mean we won't get married. Then we'll never have 3 kids, a dog, and a hamster!" Marinette exaggerated.
"Marinette, you love Adrien and he'll know that," Tikki explained.
"But now Cat Noir. I kissed him and danced with him and I flirted with him," Marinette threw herself down on her bed face first. "I betrayed Adrien. I flirted back with Cat Noir. Ugh. And now Cat Noir's never going to stop, he's going to make more puns and will keep flirting in his dumb, cute Cat Noir way," Marinette trailed off, "No, I love Adrien."
"But you like Cat Noir." Tikki stated.
"I- what! No! Of course not! I only did it to defeat The Shipper"
"Marinette..." Tikki persisted
"I don't know Tikki..." Marinette sighed.
"You'll figure it out Marinette, I know you will!" Tikki exclaimed supportively.
"Thanks Tikki!" Marinette said gratefully. Marinette cupped Tikki in her hands and pulled her in for a hug on her cheek.
