Chapter 8 - Hidden Feelings

A few weeks before Halloween...

Your POV

I'm counting down the days there are left until Halloween. It was my favorite day of the year, where people dress up and tell scary stories to each other. This was something my family does every year, but I think it is going to be a little bit different now, knowing that this is my first Halloween without my brother. There was something else on my mind, too. Or rather... someone. That someone... is Matsubara Kanon.

Ever since she kissed me, I've been trying to figure out where I stand in terms of my feelings with her. Do I feel the same way about her? Does she have feelings for me, too? This is so confusing. But luckily for me, someone came to my aid.

"Greetings, dear prince." A familiar voice called out to me.

The one who called out to me was Kaoru. And since she is here, maybe she can help me out of my predicament.

"Hey Kaoru-san, what brings you here?" I asked.

"I have been asked by my beloved kitty cats to make a reservation here at CiRCLE." Kaoru explained. "Do you have any openings by any chance?"

"Umm... let me see..."

After checking for a few seconds...

"Yes. We do have openings for Thursday this week, and Friday of next week." I said.

"I see. I shall ask my little kittens what they think." Kaoru said and texted them.

After waiting for a while, Kaoru faced me with a decision from everyone.

"My little kittens and I agree to take the opening on Friday of next week." Kaoru told me as I began to make the arrangements.

"Alright Kaoru, Hello, Happy World! has band rehearsals next Friday in studio C." I said.

"Thank you, dear (Y/N)-kun. How can I ever return the favor?"  Kaoru asked.

"Actually, I do have one..." I said, and explained about my possible feelings for Kanon.

"Ah, I see. So you want me to help you whether or not you have feelings for Kanon?" She asked for clarification.

"Yes. Do you think you can help?" I asked.

"I'd be delighted to help you." Kaoru replied as she gave me a smile.

"Thanks. We can start as soon as I take my break." I said, and went back to work.

An hour later...

Location - Live House CiRCLE, Cafe

My break began and Kaoru was kind enough to wait for me. We sat at one of the tables at the CiRCLE cafe. I put myself in Kaoru's hands, because if there is anyone who can help me right now, it's her.

"So (Y/N)-kun, tell me how do you feel about Kanon." Kaoru said.

How do I feel about her exactly? During the days we hung out, she was just a friend to me and nothing more. But when she kissed me, I didn't know what to think of it.

I mean, Kanon is nice and sweet, and whenever I see her smile, I get butterflies in my stomach, and I couldn't help but smile myself. Maybe I do have feelings for her.

"Okay, I guess I do like her after all." I said to Kaoru.

"Ah, I had a feeling that was the case. You two have always been close." Kaoru said with the chuckle.
