First Clue: The Locket

I was at the library for about a week digging myself deeper into a hole of failure, reading about half of the library from newpaper articles to books like "How to Find a Lost Loved One" and being on the computer for hours. Soon I was running low on money. I couldn't very well get a job, so unforntunately i had to face facts. I needed to pay a little visit to my house.

It wasn't very hard to get into the house. Dad was gone(not a surprise) and I had left my bedroom window ajarred before I left just in case I had to get in again. when I climbed in the first thing I did was check my room for any spare change..... nothing. Next was my dad's room , but all I found there was a mess of empty beer bottles and take out boxes( that wasn't even the worst room). After that i looked in every nook and cranny in the dining room(disgusting), living room(do we own a broom anymore?), and the kitchen(don't even get me started). There was only one room left to search....... my mom's office.

After mother had left dad treated her room as if it were the plague, so basically it was off limits(and also clean). "Desperate times called for desperate measures", I thought to myself. As I went through her stuff a knot began to form in my stomach. I really did miss her yet at the same time hated her for leaving us, leaving me.

At first I couldn't find a thing. No money, no credit cards, nothing. Iwas about to give up when something shiny caught my eye under mom's desk. Picking it up I realized that it was my mom's locket that she always wore, she never took it off. The cange was broken so that explained why it wqasint around her kneck at that moment. "She never showed me what was in this locket", I said to myself, "I wonder...." Before I knew what I was doing I opened the locket.
