Vin and Sel Stories

Where it all started, Part 1

Ah, spring, a set of months which signifies a new begging - the sun shines through the white and elegant snow, turning it into warm and clear waters, so that any flora can use it to grow itself back. Everything gets more green with each day, and as a simple grass gets stepped on every time, it does not give up on growing and getting back up, just like any other plant.
Although it seems like this is going to be a story about something related to determination, it is not.
It was the middle of spring already. The town called Chancellin perfectly captures this time of the year. 3 PM, many mobians have worked out for half of their work day now. Although some get lucky enough to get praise on the social media, not by only showing themselves for 7 seconds, but making a fortune on other digital jobs.
An axolotl girl, which had two large bags, was excitingly coming home. As soon ash she laid down her bags, she decided to come check on his brother. Unfortunately for her, he was sitting at the computer all day long again.

Axolotl girl: How much was it when you came out of home?

Axolotl boy: Uhh... Three days?

Axolotl girl: And when did you get your hair cut last time?

Axolotl boy: A month ago? What is it, Mil?

Milana. She has a big number of subscribers on her Pinstagram and often does livestream, which are mainly just her chilling with her bro.
She's a dress intermediate and a bit of a crazy girl for make-up.
Every single time her axolotl brother didn't look at least "good enough" for her standards, she would get pissed off by that.

Milana: Look at yourself! You wear this shirt with overalls and pants for at least 5 days a week! You have to get yourself look better!

Axolotl brother: I don't wannaaaaaa. I'm ok with how I look now, plus no one minds.

Milana: Smell is one thing, but the look - nuh-uh, Vincent. You're going to the barbershop with me.

As for Vincent, he was more of a homebody - he didn't like getting flashy and recognisable. But even with that, he still manages to decently work as a digital artist.
Luckily, digital artist is a legitimate job in this world, so he and his sister can legally pay rent, electro and water bills.

Vincent: Alright, fine, calm down. Which is it anyway?

Milana: Oh, I have just the place. I go there every time I want a new look to my hair, so you won't have to worry.

Vincent: Well, your call. I just want to make sure they won't do anything bad to it.

Milana: They won't, I promise.

Vincent: Alright. Love you sis.

Milana: Love you too bro.

Sister and brother rivalry is always a thing that exists, but luckily they're happening way less between those axolotls.

As the next day came, Milana almost walked out Vincent to go with him and be more acceptable on the eye.

Milana: Come on, you're only gonna get some of your green hair snapped and washed. No big deal.

Vincent: To you, I mean. I got used to it already.

Milana: Calm down. There it is. Let's go.

Both came into the barbershop. There was nothing out of the ordinary - some scissors, hairbrushes, electric blades and so on.

Jacob: Ah, Milana! Good day! Why have you come? You didn't like how your hair was done?

Milana: Oh, I LOVE it! It's just that I want my brother to get a good one.

Jacob: I see. Hey man, do you want anything in particular or just trim the edges?

Vincent: Just trim those edges, please.

Jacob: Sure thing! Take a sit right there, the barber will come to you eventually.

Vincent was a bit hesitant about the whole idea, but he looked completely fine with it. He sat down the chair. As soon as he done that, Jacob stood up and came to the "co-workers only" room.

Jacob: Hey Sel, you got a guy to get his hair cut. Just make the edges dissaper.

Sel: Sure, I got it. came out of the room to see Vincent sitting and waiting

As much as Vincent isn't afraid of people, as soon as he saw Sel, the axolotl got a little bit nervous. Sure, he was doing some decisions on his own, but it wasn't as critical as this one. To him, that is.

Vincent: I uh-

Sel: No need to. I know what you need, Jacob told me everything.

Vincent: Oh. Ok then.

Some process was going on while Milana and Jacob were talking not so far away.

Milana: Hey, never seen this girl before. Was she here before?

Jacob: She has. Her name is Selena. She started working here not so long ago, but it seems she can handle her job well. She got over 5 people make their hair better, and so far everyone left happy. I think she has her little "sign" everytime she makes it, but I can't figure out what is it.

Milana: She seems so positive and energetic by looking at her.

Jacob: She really is! I was thinking that I'm the only one who noticed it.

When Mila and Jacob were talking, Vincent and Selena didn't hear any of it and went with the situation just like they always do. Although the axolotl felt a bit bad for them to be in this "stressing" and quiet situation, so he tried to speak to the bee.

Vincent: Nice... Day we're having, ey?

Sel: Yeah! A pretty good one, actually!

Vincent: What's good about it?

Sel: Well, the sun shines, the nature is blooming and it's pretty warm outside!

Vincent: Right! Sure is! ... Hey, can we trade our names so I know how to come to you next time?

The bee was a bit shocked of his question, because no one, strangely, has ever asked her her name besides Jacob.

Sel: Uhh- Se- Selena!

Vincent: Seselena?

Seselena (?): No-no! Just Selena!

Vincent: Selena? You got a good name.

Selena: Thanks!

She was clearly embarrassed by that, but she still successfully have hidden it with her smile.

As time passed, Vincent got his new look. He felt happy.

Vincent: Woah! It really is good to see yourself look good!

Selena: Hey, uhh... Can I have your phone number? For barber things only! You can always come to me, if the seat is free, of course!

Vincent: Sure! It's (phone number).

Selena: Thank you.

Milana: Hey bro, let's go home.

Vincent: Coming!

Milana paid them and both were coming home. Selena was standing there, blushing.

Jacob: ? Hey Selena, why are you blushing?

Selena: What? Oh, it's nothing! I just overworked a bit!

Right after that, she went back to their workers room.
