We walked, arm in arm as a tall hedged area came into view.

"You guys have a maze? Can we go through it?" I asked excitedly, looking up at him.

"Another time, ok?" He sighed, looking back at me. I nodded sadly, looking back to the maze.

"I'll hold you to that." I giggled. We continued on, strolling through the promenade until we got to the greenhouse. It was large and the outside had white roses around it.

"I wanted to show you the greenhouse. Be warned, though. It's a little warmer inside. You're gonna love this." I smiled, watching my step as he escorted me up the stairs inside. I walked beside him as he held my hand softly, guiding me through the columns of plants. We passed a row of vegetables that must have been where my ingredients were coming from. There were new plants that hadn't been planted yet, still in their pots.

Rain guided me to the pond in the center to the greenhouse. The water had an array of lilies and other floating plants coating the surface.

"Rain, this is beautiful! Dew and Aether do a surprisingly good job taking care of this little place." I gushed, looking all around me.

"Yeah, at least there's something they're good at." Rain said with a chuckle.

"Is it only Dew and Aether that come here?" I asked, running my fingers across some lily of the valley flowers as I walked slowly

"Is it only Dew and Aether that come here?" I asked, running my fingers across some lily of the valley flowers as I walked slowly.

"I think it's just them and I that still do. The other Ghouls don't really see the point." He replied.

"I noticed I saw some rats or mice on the property, in the garden and close to the manor. Are Dew and Aether taking care of getting rid of them?"

"Well... Papa has a certain... fondness of rats. He won't let us harm them in any way. If we find any in the manor he just picks them up and releases them outside."

"Ah. Interesting." I said, nodding. 'A fondness of rats?'

"Would you like to meet the chickens?" He asked warmly, holding his arm out to me.

"Yes!" I said enthusiastically. We left the greenhouse through a door on the other side and followed the path to a wooden coop. Approaching the structure, I could hear the quiet clucking of the chickens inside. Rain came in front of me to open the latch to let us in. There were rows of compartments where the chickens sat, quietly cooing to themselves. We had to crouch to fit inside. A couple roosters came out of their cells to check us out.

"Hi guys!" I called out, as the biggest rooster sprinted head on at me. It started pecking at my knees angrily.

"Oww!!!" I yelped at the sudden pain in my legs, instinctively rising from my crouching, hitting my head on the top of the low ceiling. I started walking backwards, tripping on the railing of the door and falling on my butt, the door swinging open. At once, all the chickens bolted out the door, trampling all over me. Rain scrambled after them, stepping over me.
