(A/n this chapter gets very sad😢)

—Harry sits on a rock, away from the camp. He is reflecting quietly on everything that has happened. So much loss, so much pain. Tears started to well up in his eyes as he thought of everyone he lost—his mother, his father, the White Hart, Gus. The White Hart had spoken to him through a mind link and he remembered every word:

You are the one I've been waiting for, Harry

Me? You've been waiting for me?

Yes. You are the one to save the kingdom

How? I'm just a boy

The boy who will bring the kingdom out of Ravenna's cruel reign

I-I can't

You can and you will, for this is your birthright. It is your destiny

How? What do I have to do?

And then the arrow pierced its flank and it ran away, leaving Harry confused.

Since then he has tried to make sense of its words. This is your birthright...Your destiny. How could he fulfill his destiny? Why is this his destiny? Why him? His life wasn't supposed to be this way—he wasn't supposed to grow up a prisoner locked away in a cell. He was supposed to grow up and be king, his mother and father by his side to guide him. He wanted his mother. Why did she have to die?

Tears came as if, at long last, his accumulated ocean of brine was trickling through. He mind began to race with cruel thoughts—you should've died with the rest of the people that night thirteen years ago, Zayn doesn't like you, you deserve to die. He felt his skin burn each time a tear slid down his cheek despite the cold weather, the sadness too much to bear. He stares out at the mountains and valleys, sniffling, when he suddenly senses a presence behind him. He turns in alarm, but it's only Liam.

"Liam," Harry says, quickly wiping his tears away.

Liam steps closer, "Have you been crying?"

His voice was dangerously different—slow and elegant—but Harry was too sad to notice. He shook his head.

Liam smiles gently and whispers, "Walk with me."

Together, they walk into a maze of silver birches.

"Up here it's as if nothing's changed." Harry said as he touched the bark from the trunk of a birch. "The world looks beautiful again."

Liam nods, "It will be. When you are King." Harry turns, surprised by his sickeningly sweet words. "The people of this kingdom hate Ravenna with their every fiber."

"It's strange, but...I feel only sorrow for her."

Liam is taken aback by this bug pushes on. "Once people find out you're alive they will rise up in your name."
