—The fire cackled in the fireplace, keeping the room warm and cozy. The only light in the room was from candles, and it lit up the room just enough for Ravenna and her King to play a game of chess. It was time for her plan to be set in motion.

Ravenna made her move, gently pushing her pawn to an empty square with her finger.

"A mere pawn?" the King, Magnus, questioned, completely infatuated with his new bride.

She smirked. "A humble pawn can bring down entire kingdoms." The King was completely unaware of the foreshadowing of her statement.

Under the table, her foot gently moved up and down his leg, sexy and seductive. The King grunts, trying so hard to resist the beautiful woman before him. "Stop distracting me, my Queen. Your beauty will have me succumb to my desires." On the inside, Ravenna was disgusted; men only cared about beauty instead of smarts. She was smarter than what she let on, and the kingdom would soon find out just how clever she actually would be.

"Poor little pawn," she fake pouted. "Mean old king. So sad. But the final say..." She pretended to think. "Well...Queen will have that. Queen. Takes. King."

Why did she do this? If you were to ask her, she'd say "Men are blinded by their desires, and with that blindness comes weakness—my advantage." Watching the sight before her, Ravenna leaned back in her chair, waiting for the king's slow demise.

The King's death was near. She slowly leaned over the table, close to the king's ear. He looked at her with fear and bargain in his eyes. What had he done to die so tragically? He didn't know, but Ravenna had her own reasons. And then she whispered...
