Judy Moody pulled the blanket up over her head. Yay, another boring, old school day, with my boring, old class, and my boring, old stinky brother bugging me all day. As if her thoughts had called him, Stink popped his head into her room. "Hey, lazy! Mom told me to wake you up, it's time for school." Judy Moody groaned and poked her head out of the covers. "Tell her I'm sick." She told him. "No, you're not. You're too upset to be sick, if you were sick you'd be jumping around like a.." Stink grew quiet, searching for the right words. Judy rolled her eyes. "Fine, Stink. Wake me up when you think of some reason to get me to go to school." With that she put her pillow over her head. Stink stood there a moment longer, then Judy could hear him running down the hallway in his smelly sneakers. "Mo-om! Judy won't get up!" More footsteps sounded, and Judy heard her mom's voice. "Judy? Get up, you don't want to be late for school." Judy grumbled, but didn't argue. Instead she waited until mom left, then she got dressed and went down for breakfast, but before she could leave her room, something caught her eye. She turned to her window. What was that? Nothing was there. That's strange, I guess I imagined it. When Judy sat in her chair, Mom brought her a bowl of cer- wait, this wasn't cereal! "Mom! Are you feeding us monkey poo?" Yelled Stink, holding up his bowl of brown stuff. Mom laughed. "No, Stink. It's oatmeal, try it, you too, Judy." Judy wrinkled her nose, Stink stared at it. Judy stuck her tongue out, Stink pointed at his own. "You go first." Offered Judy, Stink shook his head. "Nuh-uh, this is all you." Gulp! Judy put her spoon in her bowl, put it to her mouth and swallowed.  Stink watched her, waiting for a reaction. Judy sat still for a second, then smacked her lips. "Wow, this is actually good! You try it, Stink!" Stink stuck his own spoon in his mouth, his eyes widened with surprise. Soon, they both were eating the oatmeal, and then the bowls were empty. "Can we have some more?" Asked Stink, Mom laughed. "No way, the school bus will be here any minute." As if to prove her right, a loud screech sounded outside, followed by a HONK! Judy snatched her backpack and raced outside, Stink behind her. Judy sighed as she sat in the seat. Something brown darted around the house, she blinked and stared harder, but all she saw was a stump. Wait.. That was no stump! It was moving! Unfortunately, so was the bus. Judy wanted to see it longer, but before you could say stump it was out of sight. Judy grinned. She, Judy Moody, had a mystery to solve.
Mystery of The Moving Stump, rare!
