I am trying to follow the timeline of the books, but I will be adding a few days here and there.-----------------------------
He raises a hand in an awkward half wave, "hey there Athena, long time no see." His dad sends him a withering glare causing me to tilt my head to the side. Focusing I take a peak into Deputy Greyson's mind, and an angry why did you have to attack the Lightwood heir seeps through. Which only doubles my confusion.
Feeling the need to save Mark from his dads glare I speak, "Grey did you miss me so much you decided to join me on this lovely family hiking trip?'
A gleaming smile overtakes his lips, "oh you know it Thea. I cannot let you have all of the fun. Plus, if anything happened to you on a day we are both absent I am pretty sure that Emmett will pummel me by association."
At this a deep belly laugh escapes me, "you are probably right, but if I were you it is Rosalie I would be more scared of upsetting." His mind flashes back to her near black eyes as the bleacher splinters under her grip, and the sharpness of the vision in his memory intrigues me. Feeling so overwhelmed and confused as to why all of us are here I finally speak, "so as much as I love this impromptu reunion, would any of you mind telling me why we are gathered in this empty clearing in the middle of nowhere?" My eyebrow is raised as I look at each of them in turn.
Grey goes to speak, but Charlie beats him with a soft follow us. We walk toward the center of the clearing, but the closer we get the less empty the clearing becomes. Now mere feet from the center stands a large medieval stone manor that looks as if it was only built yesterday, "welcome to one of the manors of the realm Athena Justice Lockwood." Charlie says while sweeping an arm in front of the view. "It is time you learn the truth about who and what you are," His voice is heavier than I have ever heard it before.
As we continue to move forward his statement finally hits me, "dad why did you just call me Lockwood?" I halt in place with the realization.
Both of the Greyson men walk through the heavy wooden door of the manor together followed by Charlie not even trying to answer. Mom just stops beside me with a sad rueful smile gracing her lips and holds her hand out for me to take. "It is all going to be alright sweetheart just breathe." With that she tugs me through the door as well. Walking into the ancient manor is like walking into a King Arthur novel. It is pristine on the inside. Not a speck of dirt or dust exist in this place. Not even a cobweb in the corner. As we walk further in our shoes thump against the hard wooden floors. When I look at our feet somehow all of our shoes are wiped clean of mud and grime. Following the entryway corridor we walk into a spacious open main room. That smells like a wintertime bonfire and leather. The room is warm but not too hot. It feels like comfort. In the center of the room is a round fireplace that has an incandescent blue flame in the center. It is circled by grey suede couches that have plush looking pillows on it. The left side of the room is lined with deep thick cedar book shelves darkened by age with every nook and cranny occupied. Some of the books are old and look like they could crumble at any moment while others look like they were bought only yesterday. The back wall is a large glass window that appears to be the most modern addition to the building. In front of the window is a long wooden table with chairs and papers scattered around it. The disarray of the table is the only sign that any life has occupied this building.
The right wall has holographic screens that seemingly just float there. One displays the terrain and the weather constantly updating with different factors minute but minute. Beside that screen is another that shows topographical map of the entire olympic peninsula with blinking dots of different four separate colors in varying locations. The screens that interest me the most though are the three screens that are continuously flipping through what appear to be biographies of different individuals. The screen closest to the topographic map has a green line at the top, and currently on the screen is a picture of Charlie. It has all of his information from where he lives down to his blood and personality type. The thing that peaks my interest the most is where it say faction – guardian. It is just like my dream. The next screen has a yellow line above it and currently sports a picture of Paul along with a heather grey wolf. The wolf looks larger than any wolf that I have ever seen though. Paul's faction is shifter. I laugh a little when I see that one of his personality traits is hothead because it is true. Under his picture though are the words threat level – low. The screen after that has a red line at the top and my heart stops when I see Rosalie. Bellow her picture it says born May 5, 1915, changed on April 20, 1933, physical age 18, eternal age 104, faction vampire, and threat level - low. Below all of that information are dates labeled spree killing with six names one of which being Royce King. The date of their deaths are days apart from one another and Rosalies transformation date. These are the men that hurt her, and these are the monsters that she killed to avenge herself. With a now heavy heart I look at the last screen with a white line at the top. The screen only displays the words faction – werewolves and that none exist in the area.
