Five years

Anya's POV

After 5 long years I breathed in the air of London. It's been five long years since I walked on the streets of London. Five long years since I ate the food here. Five long years away from my friends. Five long years away from him. I brushed the thoughts of him and started the search for a cab. Luckily I managed to get one. I gave the driver my address and he drove off.

Soon I reached my destination. I payed the driver and went in to my apartment. I rang the door bell and waited for the door to open. The door opened revealing my beautiful mother. I gave her a hug and said "wow mom you look stunning". She pulled away and said "your not too bad your self honey". I just laughed at her response and we both entered the apartment.

My mom went to the kitchen and said "you must be hungry. Go freshen up. I'll make something". I nodded and went to my room. It's just the way I left it. I quickly freshen up and went downstairs. As soon as I entered the kitchen I saw the dinning table full of my favourite dishes. I sat down and said "mom you really went all out". She giggled and said "well I'm feeding my daughter after five years so yeah". I laughed at her response.

I really missed these conversations. Mom looked at me and said "hey. Did you meet your sister. She visited me with her dad last month". I nodded and said "yeah. Dad said he is coming to London for a week and then I can go and bring her so we can all hang out. But of course without dad. May even asked me to watch Sienna for her. I've seen her treat Amy and I can tell she loves Amy as much as we do. She's just uncomfortable when you and dad are in the same room". Mom nodded and said "hmm. Me and your dad are civil after the divorce but May has her guard up. I keep trying to tell her that I don't have feelings for your dad anymore. And you know the rest".

I nodded and said "don't worry mom. She's a good women once she gets comfortable around you I'm sure you'll like her too". She nodded with a smile and said "yeah. Let's hope". We both ate our food and while we were cleaning up we heard the door bell ring. I walked to the door and opened. Once I opened the door I saw my friends there. I hugged the two of them together and said "I missed you guys so much".

They hugged me tighter and said "we know, and we missed you too. A lot". We pulled away from the group hug and they entered my apartment. Once we were all seated Heidi said "hey Anya. We got tickets to a football game tonight. We even got you a jersey. Let's go. Please". I looked at her and she said "look I've been looking forward to a day that we all go to a football game together. So please". I laughed and said "okay okay fine. No need to be so. I don't how to put it in words but you know what I'm saying".

She laughed and said "yay. See Riley I told you that she'll come". Riley and I just rolled our eyes and I said "who all are coming". "Riley, her boyfriend, me and my boyfriend". I got up and said "wow. So I'm going to be there as a fifth wheel. You guys can go. I'm better here". Heidi laughed and said "no. We will pay attention to you too. But seriously let's go please". Riley stood up and said "she's messing with you. You won't be the fifth wheel. Justin is going too. So I don't see a problem".

I nodded and took the jersey from her. I'm only doing this for them. Justin asked me out when I was here with them but I rejected him. I was in a relationship at the time and I don't like him that way. I never told the girls about this so they didn't know. Sure it's going to be uncomfortable but I'll do this for them. I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn't even check the jersey and just wore it. I did my hair slightly and wore a jacket since it's cold outside. Like really cold. I picked up my bag and informed mom before I went with them. Soon we reached to a big stadium. Wow. This place is really big.

We were joined by Riley's boyfriend Josh and Heidi's boyfriend Spencer. We waited for a while and Justin joined us. The girls started walking in the front with their boyfriend and Justin and I were walking behind them. I didn't talk to him but I can tell that he's trying. "so. How are things going between you and-". I cut him of by saying "we broke up". His eyes widen and he said "wow. I thought I would never be able to you know. Since you and-". Again I cut him off by saying "listen Justin I'm here to have a good time so I would really appreciate it I'd you don't bring him up".

We all walked in and the place was crowded. There were lots of posters hanging from here and there. A person bumped into me and I was about to fall but Justin wrapped his arms around my waist preventing me from falling. I looked at the person who bumped into me and I saw a woman. She looked sorry and said "ma'am I'm sorry". I stood up and gently pushed Justin a bit away from me and said "it's okay". I looked at Justin with a smile and said "thank you". He just nodded and we all made our way to the stands.

Our seat was really good. The girls and I talked a lot until the players came out. Heidi squealed and said "oh my gosh. There he is. Ahhhh. I wanna hug him". We all looked at her and I said "who. And Heidi Spencer is right next to you". He looked at me and said "it's okay Anya. She's always like that. I got used to it now". I nodded with a smile and said "oh okay". He gave me a kind smile and I saw Riley speechless.

I poked her and said "what's wrong". She looked at me and said "this is the most close I got to him". I looked at Josh and said "let me guess. You too got used to her being like this". He chuckled and nodded. A bit later I felt Justin get closer to my ear and say "hey. So since your not with him. Let's go out on a date". I looked at him and said "what no". He shrugged and said "I'm gonna try to get you while I can". I looked at the field trying to ignore what Justin said.

Why did Justin have to come and bring him up. I was looking at the field when my eye landed on a person's back. An all too familiar person. Since his back was facing me I couldn't see his face. But he sure is making me curious and scared at the same time. The first half was about to end and I was still trying to see his face. His jersey had written Mount in big letters. I needed to see the face of the person. There are lots of people with the name Mount in this world. But his body is just too familiar. My heart says that it might be him but my mind is rejecting that.

Somewhere in me I was hoping that it was him but a part of me was also hoping that it wouldn't be him. The half time came and all the players went into the tunnel. I looked at Riley and said "hey Riles. Mind if I go to the washroom". She nodded her head and said "do you want me to come with you". I shook my head and said "it's okay. I won't take long". She nodded and said "yeah just don't get lost".

I stood up and made my way to the washroom. Since this was my first time here and the stadium is hella big its was hard to find it. And now I'm lost. I kept waking and walking when I came to an area where there were not many people. I was confused and I heard voices. I looked behind me and saw that the players were coming out of the dressing room.

My eyes followed the boys in the blue jersey and I can't believe what I just saw. It was him. He had that carefree smile on us face. His dimples perfectly at display. He's muscular body has gotten more muscular. His jersey hugging him in the right places. He had grown tall. A bit facial hair on his face just they way he told me he wanted to get. His hairstyle matching him. His voice has not changed a bit. He still had that thick British accent that I fell in love with. He was about to look in my direction. I quickly hid behind a wall.

My heart was racing fast. My breathing was fast. What is happening. I thought I'm over him. I thought he didn't affect me anymore. It's been five years so why. Why does he still have this affect on me. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm myself down. I never thought I would see you again Mason Mount. I guess it's true when people say the world is a small place.
