PART SEVEN.
❪ playground nostalgia drips ❫the warmth of his hand had eased the chilling they felt as [name] closed the tiny gaps of his fingers entwined. "yuu" they called him under their scarf, giggling "where are we going exactly ?" feets crunching the apricot mixing in crimson leaves that had fell under the trees, the wind brushing feebly in their cheeks that made them inhale a good amount of fresh air, drips of strain washing away so quickly, sweetly taking in the featherlight feeling at a slow pace.
ah, maybe taking a stroll in autumn with their beloved isn't so bad after all.
nishinoya returned the gesture as he placed both of their hand in his pocket before glancing at them, bubbly exclaiming "you'll see !"
there's hardly any people these days, [name] pivot their attention to their right, a middle aged man was there pushing the stroller with a grandma sweetly smiling- to them, gaze faltered in realization as they shortly gave a bow. they thought it'd be nice to just fixate their attention to their husband instead, [name] didn't want to embarrass themselves any further.
going outside wasn't their ideal interval to escape the stress they've been enduring, but perhaps, it wasn't impossible for nishinoya to change their viewpoint, and that they're glad he was shining in effervescence as the dusk's ray wafts both of them.
they were glad from the bottom of their heart. their lips crept up a small smile, after all, the past occurrences have never been more unique with its unpredictable tricks it has on its sleeve. and oh him ? they couldn't even describe how much he made them so whipped up, but [name] loves it, they love it so much.
they love him very much.
which is why, they wanted to love themselves too, if that beaming grin of his would never leave from his pretty face, taking the initiative for once because there was a reason to it, and the reason was something they'd cherish for the rest of their life.
the couple's walk had cut short when nishinoya finally spoke as he stand firm, never tearing his gaze away, then [name] trailed to what he was staring at.
"a children's park ?" they murmured, eyes gaping.
"our park"
his cheeks stained in pink galore as his eyes crinkled in crescent shape, the biggest and mellow smile ever formed in his chapped lips. "i love this place, and i know you love it too" the hot melting honey glow kissed the atmosphere of orange tones and [name] could intensely feel the tears ready to permeate in any second.
noya's touch fades when he rushed forth to take the swings as though his significant other would follow him behind, but after no presence had filled up behind nor beside, he turned around--
to see his one and only, breathing in shallow gasps with their chest rising up and down, eyes glistened in passionate sunset drizzles and slowly, ever so slowly swells of tears, distorted little sobs escaping their lips as no effort could muster to hide it. this was the place that holds too many memories after all.
and the most permanent piece that pierced their lifetime. like a big red marker scribbled on the vast board of your canvas screaming endlessly but, in a way where [name] would never tear away their ears to it but—crap, its too much to handle.
"you idiot" they haphazardly wiped the tears as they breathed out heavily "didn't think you'd drag me to this place again"
"why ? this was where i'd asked you to be mine !"
"exactly ! where you-" they choked with their words, another stream of crystal dews threatening to fall "where you-"
"[name], i hate being cliche as hell but, your hand in marriage ??"
it doesn't need to be said aloud, nishinoya treaded back to them with his heart seams of the gentle sun, rushing up to his lips that curved upwards like always, he hugged them as they silently cried over his shoulder. [name] was currently emotional over a children's park, their husband would be lying if he wasn't too.
a faint and breathy chuckle elicits as they pulled away, the cold wind chastely peppered their cheeks, sniffing while stepping in to embrace the feelings scattered around, like little kids running along till hours blends together til it was nothing more to be worried about, youth flourishing their golden years with juvenile smiles and clumsy bumps of life along the way. those little kids where they spent the whole time pampering their beloved place much more like their home now, lurking pieces of everything, everything they could have—especially the soft spot of love they had cherished.
those kids were not anyone but [name] [last name] and yuu nishinoya.
"i- damn" a longing, heavy gaze glazed upon left and right, the playground wrinkled old in its rusty swings, taller trees and wilting flowers on the side, patches of dirt in the slides ; it was enough to unwind the whole place once more, a blissful desire dancing in their eyes. "i love this place, so so much"
he lit up, glancing over them "wanna play ?"
"that's not even a question" interlacing their hand with his, a toothy grin paints their features that left him mesmerized for a second- minute ? he couldn't tell. but he wanted to picture it that could leave his mind off to cloud nine, leaving it engraved for some time.
ah, well, staring at their locked hands, perhaps he'd leave it be. [name] wasn't going anywhere else, and that was more than what he could wish for.
