Since the incident at training camp it's been... awkward around Kuroo to say the least. You couldn't help but feel like he was avoiding you, which was impressive on his end considering you were the team manager. Not to say it was any better on your end, you could barely make eye contact with the Nekoma captain whenever you had to talk to him or pass a message along from Coach Nekomata.

It's gotten so bad that even the team noticed something was going on. Lev had approached you with puppy dog eyes and asked if he did anything to upset you. It was touching, but you brushed him off with the familiar excuses of having to study for exams.

Kenma knew something was off, and he obliged your requests to eat lunch alone with him for the past couple of days. He couldn't find the right timing to bring the topic up if you and Kuroo had a falling out, and to be honest, Kenma enjoyed the peace and quiet he got from you.

Although eventually Kenma knew he had to say something if things kept going the way that they did, his usually talkative and obnoxious best friend had begun to exhibit strange behaviour around him too. Kuroo would have normally foamed at the mouth if Kenma had asked him if everything was alright and showed concern for him in the past, but this time Kuroo kept his lips sealed shut.

Your eyes were glued onto the small screen of your game console. Kenma glanced up from his game to you, letting out a sigh to brace himself for the awkward conversation that would ensue.

"Did something happen with you and Kuroo? I know he can be an idiot sometimes, but whatever he did I'm sure he feels really bad about it too."

"I'm sure he does feel bad about it, that's why he's avoiding me like I have the plague," you grumbled under your breath.

Kenma cleared his throat nervously, "You know if you're worried that I'll take Kuroo's side or something since I've known him longer, don't be. I'll be your friend no matter what happens..."

You paused your game to look at Kenma, touched at his sentiment and concern for you. However, he only felt more uncomfortable under your silent admiration.

"We are f-friends, right?" Kenma asked, looking uncharacteristically vulnerable.

"Of course!" you yelled louder than you had anticipated, causing Kenma to reel back slightly. You whispered a quick apology.

"So what happened anyway?"

"Promise you won't laugh?"

Kenma rolled his eyes, "If it involves you, it's probably not funny to begin with."

Ignoring his jab, you continued, "At training camp... we kind of... kissed!"

Kenma raised an eyebrow at you, "that's it?"

"What do you mean, 'that's it'?" You asked incredulously. You explained the situation leading up to getting locked in a storage room with Kuroo, no doubt planned by a couple of mischievous owls, "And now he won't even look at me! I wish if he regretted it so much, we could at least go back to how we used to be... not having to tiptoe around each other," you complained.

Kenma was deep in thought, processing everything you had just told him. Is Kuroo really this dumb? To him it was obvious that Kuroo had liked you and felt a romantic attraction towards you.

Kuroo wouldn't ever shut up about you in the group chat he had forced Kenma into joining, which he promptly muted, but still. Kenma sighed, wondering why it had to be up to him to play cupid for the two most oblivious people that he somehow became best friends with.

"Listen y/n, I don't know how much I can tell you, but Kuroo really likes and respects you. When you're not around he doesn't shut up about you."

You sighed, feeling frustrated and confused, "I had a feeling that he liked me too, but I guess not if he can't even stand being in the same room with me for more than five minutes."
