The next time I woke up I remember my mom over me with a scowl. I could tell she was crying because her eyes were red and puffy. "Whats wrong mommy?" I asked. I was a lot comfortable with my mother. She has never yelled at me before.

"What do you think you were doing!" She screamed. I jumped almost out of my scales.

"Mommy please don't yell. It scares me lots." I yelled back in between sobs.

"I don't care! You little worm!" She yelled even louder. All I could see is a blur because of the tears streaming out my eyes. "Go do something meaningful! It'll make you actually useful." She said handing me a broom.

I looked at the broom and realized then that my loving and caring mother was know the same as my cold father. I had never felt more betrayed. How could she become so cruel and evil?  I never thought someone could become mean to their own child.

I remember I stopped having anytime to myself and was only worked the whole day. I caught the food for dinner, lunch, and breakfast. I was always so tired at the end of the day. I started becoming more and more bitter and mean.

I was minding my business when my mom bumped into me. "Watch were you are going!" I screamed not even caring that I was losing it.

"Watch your mouth! Don't yell at your mother you little twerp!" She screamed. I then realize the consequences of my actions. I heard the door slam open and the clatter of spikes on the floor as my father walked to where we were.

I quickly started doing my task again and watched my father come in the living room and walked to my mother and hugged her. I felt my ice fire rising in my throat.

Later that night I was by myself and out of no where my parents burst into my room. I reluctantly got up and went into the stance my parents always made me do infront of them. My wings already felt sore and tired.  My mother and father looked at me and I felt even more tense then I normally did.

"Yes mother and father?" I asked a little scared by what the silence meant.

"Me and your father have been thinking for a while and we have decided to enroll you in Queen Glacier's army." She said looking at my father with pride and I saw my dad beaming with a crocked smile.

"What! NO!" I yelled losing my stance and backing away horrified.

"You will go! You better be better when you get back you little worm!" My father barked stepping towards me.

I looked around and saw nothing. I felt my ice fire rising and then I ran at my father. I missed and hit my mother. I heard a yell and then a piercing pain in the back of my head and then everything became black. The last thing I thought was I am going to war.
