"Hey Grundy you dropped that" I turned around to see my childhood best friend, Marshmallow. We grew up together, are together, slept together ( next to each other you fag), did everything together. We were like two peas in a pod and inseparable. Our friendship withstood time and several other obstacles. We both just love each other a lot /p I smiled at her and saw that I dropped my access card to the Admin room.
"Thanks Marsh, I don't know what I would even do without you!"

I stiffled a giggle and hugged my bestie. I looked around the cafeteria to see all the crewmates assembled. They were talking to each other about the upcoming mission when the captain, Teri took command and briefed us.
"Crewmates, we have to reach the other star system at all costs for the fate of humanity rests on our shoulders."
We all nodded in agreement and as soon we were about to discuss further details, the lights went out.
"Huh, weird", I thought.
Without much delay fearing the security of all my crewmates I went towards electrical to fix the wires. I went down, through the storage and finally into cafeteria. I finally reached the wires and switched on a flashlight and got to work. Connected the tedsz greens, yellows and blues. The lights came on! Bless my engineering degree.
On my way back to the cafeteria, the world around me collapsed and everything felt so surreal. I found a dead body in the alley between electrical and storage. My knees gave away and I collapsed on the floor, not believing what I was seeing. It was our captain's corpse and there was a knife in his back. I started weeping uncontrollably. My astronaut training had prepared me for loneliness but not someone's murder onboard the ship.
My legs gave away and I collapsed onto the floor. It was finally finally over. The mission must be completed by my best friend and I. We can do it. I remembered my fallen comrades and tears trickled down my cheek as I mourned their loss.
"Rest well. You have been avenged and we will complete the mission on your behalf. I love you forever", I thought.
Marsh hugged me and helped me. "You did the right thing Grundy. I love you /p"

Marsh then pulled away from tge hug smiling. She opened her mouth to protrude her tongue.
"Huh? Marsh whyre you doing that?", I asked thinking it was one of her silly pranks.
Her tongue extended, it was long. Too long...
"Uhhh marsh???"
The tongue wouldn't stop extending and that's when it shot through my visor piercing my skull and brain and came out on the other side.In my final moments, I couldn't believe what I'd witnessed and truth dawned on me. Sh was the second impostor. She was working with Ashlan. But why? Why now? My best friend? I could only wonder what the answers to these questions were before I fell down on my side.
Consciousness fading slowly. I looked up at my best friend, no, at the creature one last time. We made eyecontact and her eyes dripped with hatred anger and indifference to my death. I smiled wondering why this had all happened as I breathed my last and closed my eyes one last time drifting away...
"What...Why...Who..."
My thoughts raced but luckily I was found by Marsh.
"GRUNDY WHAT HAPPENED TO TERI", said she looking incredulous at the corpse.

She pulled me into a hug and comforted me. She told me that it was gonna be alright and she decided to report the body to all the crewmates. She turned on her microphone and said,
