It was a Sunday morning. I was out for my usual morning jog. I went for a jog every morning at 5AM and sometimes during the day - if I was bored, or stressed, or had a spare moment. I went so early because most of the small town that I lived in wasn't awake yet, I also loved watching the sunrise, I always preferred it over the sunset. Mornings were my favourite time of day, quiet, peaceful, lonely and just down right beautiful. I feel it always set me up right for my day, if I slept in I wouldn't want to get anything done, almost like I slept all of my motivation away. A jog was always the perfect way to start the day, especially on a Sunday - when it was the most quiet and peaceful.

I was making my way home now, it was about 6:30. I had sat upon a hill on my usual rock, that looked out towards the whole town. You could see everything from up there. It was my place to get away from everything and everyone, and most importantly, to watch the sunrise every single morning.

I smile as I walk through the door, feeling happy about my run this morning. As I was taking my shoes off at the door I furrowed my brows, hearing my parents voices through the dining room. I made my way over to where the archway formed the entrance of the dining room, I could make out another voice - an old man. I soon clicked on that they were talking about school. Why though? My grades were fine, great even. I was always at the top of my class and I actually liked school, I know I am a freak, right? Actually, I was the complete opposite, I had many friends in school, many enemies too, don't get me wrong. This only made me enjoy school even more.

I was trying to figure out why they could possibly be talking about school with a strange, old man. My thoughts were disrupted when the man mentioned Hogwarts. Hogwarts? Why does that sound so familiar? Were they trying to send me off to a new school?

"We knew this day was going to come, we just weren't sure when," my mother sighed sadly.

What day? My confusion got the better of me and before I could help myself I was now standing in the dining room, all three heads turned to look at me.

"What day?" I simply asked.

"Ah sweetie, I thought I heard you come in," my mother smiled at me and gestured me to take a seat opposite her and my father.

The old man was now standing, as if he was ready to leave.

"Ah yes. Emerson. I wondered when I'd be meeting you. I am sorry that it couldn't have been any sooner, but I will let your parents explain everything to you," he says whilst walking towards the archway I just came from. He smiled at the confusion on my face, "I hope to see you again soon." And with that he left through the front door.

"Who on earth was that? What is going on? Are yous sending me to a different school?" My mouth asking them all the questions that were going through my head all at once.

My father laughed, "calm down, Emerson. It isn't a bad thing, it's a great thing in fact. You've been on the list to get into that school ever since you were born-"

"Hogwarts?" I interrupted.

"Yes," he simply smiled. "It's not just any school, how do I put this. Well, it is a school for young witches and wizards - like you," he started, I had a look of shock on my face and then I started laughing, not believing the words that were coming out of his mouth. However, their faces stayed dead serious. I quickly stopped laughing.

"What?"

"Yes, you're a witch, you can perform magic, with the right training Dumbledore thinks you will be great," my mother told me. "He said you're what they call a pure-blood?" She said, a little confused and looking to my dad for confirmation, he simply nodded.

"However, because you're starting late, you'll have loads of catching up to do, what missing a whole two years and all," my father started telling me, "we have arranged for someone called Hagrid to meet up with you and help you get all your things."
