I woke up after a terrible nights sleep and checked the time - 9AM. Great. The train didn't leave until 11AM but this meant I didn't have time to go for my morning run, not that that would be a very good idea since I don't know my way around. I stretched and headed for the bathroom, I realised I didn't have any towels for the shower so I made my way downstairs to ask someone behind the bar if they could help.

It was a lot busier than I was expecting it to be, full of younger people, all who must be getting ready to leave for Hogwarts too. I realised that I was still in my pyjama shorts and a vest, but I didn't care too much. It wasn't like anyone was looking.

I huffed in annoyance as the people at the bar were too busy serving the customers to notice I had clearly stayed the night and needed help.

"Need some clothes?" I heard a voice laugh behind me. Great, I was so not in the mood for this right now.

I turned around to be faced with a chest, I looked up but noticed the Hogwarts badge on his robe as I did. Great, even better. I rolled my eyes and gave him a look as if to say get lost.

"Someone must've woken up on the wrong side of the bed," he laughed again.

"You don't even know me," I huffed, "for all you know, this is how I am all the time." I say as I turn back round to face the bar.

I could feel his presence behind me, still. I turn around quickly to ask him what his problem was.

"Something catch your eye, blondie?" I smirk as I had caught him eying up my arse. His eyes shot up to meet mine.

"Don't flatter yourself, blondie," he scoffed, emphasising the last word. I rolled my eyes at him for the second time and turned around, growing impatient I shouted for someone to help me about my towel situation. No response.

"You're in quite the situation," he smirked whilst taking a seat at a bar stool next to me. "If only I could help you." The blonde boy said sarcastically whilst rubbing his chin.

"What do you want?" I scoff.

"Just to help you," he smiled in the most sarcastic way possible.

"Yeah right, I'd rather just wait for someone who actually can help," I look at him, "thanks." I say sarcastically with a fake smile to go with it.

"Emerson?" I heard a familiar voice say from behind me. I turn around and see Hagrid. "Why aren't you getting dressed?" He asked in a concerned manner.

"Well I went to go take a shower and realised they hadn't given me any towels so I've been trying to get someone's attention," I started, "and then this boy hear came over and he's been distracting me since." I told him. The boy smirked.

"Ah so I see you've met Malfoy then," he said gesturing towards the blonde boy, "Draco will be one of your classmates at Hogwarts."

Draco smiled and put his hand out. I could already tell this boy and his sarcastic ways was going to get on my nerves. I took his hand and shook it, only because Hagrid was standing watching us. Hagrid shouted at one of the people behind the bar to get me a towel and he did so without question. I thanked Hagrid and took the towel out of his hands and made my way back up to my room. I felt like I was in a rush now. It was 10AM. I had been there a whole hour. It felt like 10 minutes.

"Shit," I muttered under my breath.

I had a quick shower, changed into some comfy clothes for on the train. I figured I would just put them on when we got close, not really wanting to sit on a train for hours in school uniform. I simply pulled on some grey joggers and a white sports bra. I left my hair down to dry on its own, not having the time to dry it myself. I got all my stuff together and made my way back downstairs. It was a struggle since my trunk was extremely heavy and the stairs were so narrow. As I walked back into the main area of The Leaky Cauldron, it was much less busy than it was half an hour ago, I scanned the room to see if I could find someone nice enough to help me with getting there. I noticed Hagrid was still here and he was talking to a group of people who seemed to be about my ago too.

"Emerson, finally," Hagrid gestured for me to come over, "I've been telling these three all about you and they said they would be happy to help you around the castle and getting there and stuff." I smiled at him and then the trio sitting in front of me.

"I'm Hermione," the girl said, putting out her hand for me to shake, which I did.

"Ron," a ginger boy said and did the same, I shook his hand too and watched him blush a little. I laughed and turned to the last boy they were sitting with.

"Harry," he smiled, I shook his hand and gave him a smile back.

"Right well I'll leave yous four to it then," Hagrid said whilst standing up, "I will see yous when you get there." And with that he left us alone.

We got to Kings Cross just in time and I watched as Hermione ran through the wall. Shock was clear on my face. Harry and Ron laughed as they noticed me.

"I was the same the first time I had to do it too," Harry said, flashing me a smile, "you can go next, give it a little run up if you're scared."

I smiled at the boy and shook my head, "it will take a lot more than running through a wall to scare me." I laughed.

Once I was on the other side I made my way over to Hermione. We waited for the two boys to come through before making our way onto the train, it was all so amazing and suddenly all of my nervousness was gone. I felt nothing but excitement.

We found an empty compartment and took our seats, I was next to the window, Hermione on my other side and Harry opposite me.

"So, what's your story Emerson," Ron blurted out. I laughed at how nervous he seemed to be.

"I don't really know to be honest," I started, all three of them looking at me intently, "I only found out I could do magic last week, I know that I come from a pure-blood family. But my parents were killed when I was a baby so my god parents adopted me, I only found this out at the same time I found out I was going to Hogwarts." I laughed at how bazar the situation was.

"Wow, that sounds tough," Hermione said. I shrugged my shoulders.

"Well I think you'll love it," Harry smiled at me, "I think you'll love Dumbledore too."

"Ah yeah, Dumbledore," I said, causing the three of them to give me a confused look.

"You know Dumbledore already?" Harry asked.

"Oh. Yeah, he came to see my parents and tell them I was ready to join Hogwarts and I walked in on them talking, he said a few things to me," I simply said, wondering why it was such a big deal.

"Woah. You must be pretty serious if Dumbledore is coming out to personally talk to your parents," Ron said, astounded.

I shrugged again and looked out of the window. It was unusual for Dumbledore to go out to talk to peoples parents? Why did he come to speak to mine then?

It was starting to get dark outside now and Ron and Harry had went off to get changed, I said I would do the same once they got back, not wanting to leave Hermione on her own. The four of us had been talking for ages, it's like I just clicked with them, I liked that.

Harry and Ron returned, giving me my queue to leave and get changed too. I stood up to leave with my bag on my shoulder. I made my way down the train in the same direction they did. I was looking out for any kind of toilet sign or something when I bumped into a hard chest.

"Shit," I murmured, "sorry." I said as I looked up to see who it was. Draco. "Ah great," I said sarcastically.

"Are you following me? Blondie," he laughed down at me and smirked.

"Ha, you wish," I glared into his eyes. "Now, if you could just let me past, that would be great."

He scoffed and moved out of the way. I was surprised he actually listened to me. I started walking towards a sign I noticed at the end of the isle.

"You better lose your attitude with me, blondie, I wouldn't want to have to shut you up myself," the boy said as I was walking away. I turned and rolled my eyes at him and carried on walking towards the toilet.

Once I got back to the compartment we were sitting in they were asking me where I had been, I shrugged them off and told them I got lost, not particularly wanting to talk about him. Something about him just made me want to punch him in the face, I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was though.
