Memory Lane

Chapter 24

"Thankfully, Captain is back to normal," Levi said over the phone. He was leaning on the porch railing, watching Eren sat on the beach, playing fetch with Captain, and admiring the sunset.

"Of course, Captain sensed that Jeager needed him more than anything. I told you we don't need a new dog," Hange sang.

Levi hummed. Closing his eyes, he enjoyed the cool breeze that blew from the ocean and the distant sounds of the seagulls.

Traveling to Shingansina Island was uneventful, Levi applaud the guards who were following them discretely until they reached the island. Eren didn't notice a thing was busy taking pictures of everything his beautiful green eyes landed on.

"I have the results," Hange announced.

Levi's blood ran cold, all the peace that he felt a second ago was long gone. Before they left, the raven gave his blood to Hange for testing. If he counted the days correctly, it's been two weeks since they had sex. They were busy packing things up and securing an island to hide away while Kenny sorted with Erwin Smith. Levi didn't feel anything but he slightly get paranoid every morning he wake up.

Momentarily closing his eyes, Levi took a deep breath before speaking. "Tell me."

"You're not pregnant."

Levi sighed in relief, his other hand grasped the rail tightly when he suddenly felt his knees grew.

Thank the Gods he's not pregnant.

"But that doesn't mean you won't be in the future," Hange warned.

Gathering his composure, Levi straighten and scoffed. "I can handle myself."

"You're lucky this time Levi but now that Eren claimed you, your body is more receptive to accept your Alpha's sperm."

"I fucking know, okay!" He hissed. "I packed the pills. Now, shut up!"

"Okay, okay, calm down," Hange softened her voice over the phone.

That's what Levi realized how he reacted. If he heard himself right, it sounded like he was planning on sleeping with his Alpha again. He couldn't believed he said it. "Sorry, I... I don't know..."

"Levi, don't ever apologize. I'm a doctor, I know that it was your Omega talking," Hange explained professionally.

"My Omega talking," Levi groaned and ran a hand on the mark on his nape. It somehow became a habit in the past few days. When he felt uncertain or simply had nothing to do with his hands, he would find them caressing the mark on his nape. It was something he couldn't explain. Just feeling the mark on his nape... calms him down.

"It's natural for your body to yearn for your Alpha after bonding. I'm not forbidding you to sleep with your Alpha but I'm saying to be careful."

"I know," Levi sighed heavily and whispered, feeling his chest grew heavy. "After all, this is all nothing but pretend."

Hange was silent for a moment before she spoke. Voice cracking. "I'm working on it."

"I know," Levi smiled a little. A drug that could break a bond, he thought. It sounded dangerous but he trust his dear friend and colleague. "Thank you, Hange."

Ending the call, Levi looked back to the brunette on the sand. Captain finally grew tired of running around and settled next to the brunette.

Even though he was sure of his feelings towards the Eren, he knew nothing good would come of it or if it had any benefits.

Levi was not surprised. He was heartbroken before and he survived that one. Now, he knew he could survive this impending heartbreak again.

Pushing himself off the rail, Levi walked towards the brunette and sat next to him. The sand was going to be a pain but Levi didn't care at this point. He simply looked at Eren's peaceful face while his beautiful emerald green eyes stared at the sunset.
