Memory Lane

Chapter 15

"I thought your date was canceled," Levi groaned when he opened the front door.

Hange grinned widely at him and let herself in, dragging her suitcase. "Not anymore!" she laughed.

Levi sighed and closed the front door. Last time, Hange called that her date was canceled, thus, she didn't drop by Levi's house for her outfit selection. The raven was able to arranged Eren's physical therapy then and the brunette Beta helped him out with her initial plan was canceled. Levi assumed that Hange had thought about the dangers of having a relationship with their current mission and decided to hold the guy off but it didn't seem like what the raven Omega had thought.

"Hey, Eren and Captain!" Hange greeted the brunette Alpha in the living room with the dog laying on his feet.

"Hey. Hange, right?" Eren smiled awkwardly at her. "I'm sorry, I was on an accident and I-

"-It's okay!" she leaned forward and patted his back with the wide grin still plastered on her face. "Did Levi told you about me yet? I hope it's nothing bad!"

"Well," Eren leaned back, hoping to create some sort of space between him and the weird smiling Beta. His green eyes drifted at Levi. The raven Omega had moved to the kitchen and started preparing tea. "Not yet."

"Bummer!" Hange straightened, placing both fists on her hips, she shouted at Levi in the kitchen. "Why didn't you tell your hubby about your best friend who just lives next door?!"

"You are not my best friend!" Levi hissed.

"But you signed my autograph book 10 years ago! You even filled it! Your favorite color, food, place, and dreams! You're my best friend!"

Levi whipped his head towards the Beta and stared at her with horror. "That junk was an autograph book?"

"Well, it's actually a scrapbook but I got tired of decorating it," Hange laughed bashfully while she scratched the back of her head.

"So, it is junk?" Levi deadpanned.

"No! It's not!" Hange whined.

Eren placed the back of his hand on his lips, hoping that it would conceal his smile and amusement with the two's banter.

He watched silently as Hange sat on the floor and opened her suitcase. She pulled out a weird-looking dress and shoved it to Eren's face.

"Should I wear this tonight Eren?! What do you think?!"

"Um," Eren weakly pushed the clothing away from his face and study the... unsual design. He tried so hard not to cringe, the outfit looked more like a costume than anything, specifically, a witch's costume. It's not bad as a costume. It was all black with glitters, the sequence was beautiful and shaped like bats. It had bell sleeves and the skirt was asymmetrical. It's actually pretty nice for Halloween but definitely not for dinner. "Um, it's a bit over the top for dinner?"

"You think so?" Hange stood and placed the dress in front of her as he checked her reflection on the TV. "Hmmm."

Captian rose from Eren's feet and started sniffing at the Beta's open luggage.

"Captain, stop! Bad dog!" The brunette Alpha blushed at his dog's actions and attempted to pull the mutt away from Hange's belongings.

Levi came to them with a tray of tea and biscuits in his hands. His blue-stormy gaze at the dog who had his head deep inside the Beta's clothes.

"Levi," Eren looked up at his mate for help. He's doing his best to reel Captain away but the dog refused to move.

Levi quickly put the tray on the coffee table, he was about to push the dog when Captain finally move away on his own. The raven Omega gaped at the sight of a cookie on the dog's mouth.
"Goddammit, Hange?! You had cookies  inside your suitcase?!"

Hange looked back at him with an open smile. "Yeah?"

Levi growled, the black dress that the Beta was holding had bits of crumbs on it. His eyes drifted down on the open suitcase, and to his horror, all the clothes had crumbs in them.

"Unacceptable!" He exploded.

"Levi?" Eren asked the raven but he didn't get a reply. He silently watched as Levi snatched the black dress that Hange was holding. He stuffed it in the suitcase and closed it shut.

"No one is wearing any of these clothes until I washed them!" He declared and stomped towards the laundry room.

"Yelp," Hange shrugged, she smiled at Eren and sat next to him. "Guess it doesn't hurt to wait, right?"

"Um, yeah," Eren nodded weakly.

Hange started humming and helped herself with some tea and biscuits. While Eren was having a hard time figuring out some small talk. As expected, he had no idea who Hange was and it didn't help that Levi never told him about the Beta. But come to think of it, Levi hardly spoken about his friends, even his uncle Kenny.

Eren slumped on the couch. Sometimes, he felt like his wife was so far away.

"Aw, look at Captain!"

Eren blinked and followed the Beta's gaze. Captain was in the kitchen, eating the cookie in his food bowl. The brunette Alpha smiled a little, the dog was such a neat-freak like his wife. Captain never ate anything if it wasn't in his food bowl, if he found food, like the cookie he would bring it to his food bowl and eat it there. "He's amazing."

"Cool, right?" Hange grinned.

Eren's smile dropped. "Um, Hange?"

"Yeah?" she answered while stuffing her face with biscuits.

"How long have you know me?"

"Long. I knew you before you and Levi were wed."

"We're friends?"

"Yeah!" Hange cheered.

"So," Eren bit his bottom lip nervously and looked down at his hands. "Do I have some anger issues? Have I... hurt Levi?"

Hange was silent for a moment before she draped her arm over the brunette's shoulders. "Look, I'm not going to lie, okay?"

Eren looked up at her with watery eyes and nodded weakly.

"You do have some issues but Levi accepted that. He accepted all of you. He knew what he's getting into and he can handle himself."

"So, I did hurt him?" Eren deflated.

"Eren," Hange pulled her arm away and placed her cup of tea in her hands. "It's not bad to get angry, it's human emotions. But you managed to control it even before you met Levi. I don't know exactly what happened but I know that it was a long time ago. Did Levi said he forgave you?"

"He did but..." Eren paused. "I'm afraid. What should I do if it happens again? If we get into a fight and I hit him? I can't remember how to deal with it now that I've lost my memories."

"Eren, you may have lost your memories but they are always there with you. You just... know but if you're worried just remembered to breathe in and out slowly if you get angry," Hanhe suggested with a warm smile.

"Thank you, Hange. I will never forgive myself if I hurt Levi again."

Levi squatted near the laundry room's doorway. Head down and hands covering both ears but it was no use, he heard everything. Hange and Eren moved on to talking about the Beta's date and Levi wished that the washing machine was noisy because now all he could hear was Eren's cool voice and the pitter-patter on his chest.
