once upon a storm

   The thunder roars as I stand planted in front of the Phantomhive manor. This is my last stop of the day, and in a  weird way, I hope the queens guard dog says he doesn't want me to work for him.
   I muster the courage and raise my hand to knock. As my hand barely touched the door, it flies open. I felt like I've died on the spot. "Good evening ,madam, how may I be of service?" The silk voice asks. With my hand still over my heart trying to recover from the small fright, I'm almost physically taken back by the man the voice came from. "I-im sorry, just give me a moment to recover.you frightened me a bit." I say calming my self. " I'm here for the maid's position the open. If it's still available?" I say keeping my self under control. " Yes I see. Please come in. I'm Sebastian, the head Butler, and I will be conducting the interview for the position." He bows as he introduced himself. There is something strange about this man, that I just can't put my  finger on. " I'm evalynn baker. Pleasure to make your aquaintance" I did a small curtsy. 

  He asked all the routine questions that are usually asked. He gives me very little feed back before leaving me in the drawing room. " I will return momentarily." I wait til he is completely out of the room. What in the bloody hell is wrong with you? This place of all places to work. You could have just waited until tomorrow and search again, but I need a job , and fast. Just don't worry. I am pacing the room. Someone clears their throat, catching my attention. " I would like to formally welcome you to the Phantomhive manor. Follow me and I'll give you a grand tour and all the jobs you will be doing." He announced.

The manor is quite beautiful and very, very spacious. I'm in awe from this place.in an instance , I run into Sebastian. My cheek instantly heat from the embarrassment " please, forgive me" I look up to meet his gaze, and he wears a look I can't explain. " That's quite alright. Just pay attention so I won't have to say it again." It's like he's kindly scolding me.

  After the tour is over, he guides me to the kitchen. " Would you like a cup of tea, evalynn?" He asks with a hint of.......I don't know but a hint of something. The way my name rolls off his tongue like that, give me a feeling of butterflies smashes into each other. " Evalynn? " He says my name again snapping me out of my thoughts. " Yes, Sebastian?" I ask , surprise written on my face. " I asked if you would like a cup of tea?" He says with a small smirk, barely noticable. " Yes please. Thank you" I nervously speak. 

I'm a good Christian girl with a decent family. I will not bend to temptation. I grip the cross around my neck saying a silent prayer for strength. " Are you alright?" He asks. If you only knew what I was fighting.  
" What are you fighting?"  I'm now realizing I was not in my head. My cheeks turn blood red.
" Nothing , nothing at all. It's not anything God can't handle for me." A nervous mess is what I am. He sets the tea down in front of me. The minute the tea hit my tongue, I was amazed.
" This is delicious Sebastian. I hope you make tea for me often. It's almost better than my mum's." I smile.  " So , tell me about yourself evalynn. It's better to know who will be working under me." My cheeks go red, and my mind dives in the gutter. Yes I would definitely work very good under.I should be ashamed of my self. " There nothing much to me really. Good Christian girl trying to help her family more. I've worked small things with my parents, but now Im of age, I can get a serious job and help more. I'm not very picky about things, I'll do a lot of things that others won't do." I feel him staring in me soul. He's making me turn more red than I was. I shoot out my seat with a kind smile " thank you for the tea and the work. I will see you in the morning." I give another smile and head to my room. I'll say it is weird to sleep somewhere other than my parents home. I will do my best to make you proud I promise.
