𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐞 ||| 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐯 (𝟏)

[ 𝟐𝟗 ]

The cafeteria was as crowded as ever. Everyone chatted with each other while munching on their food. Hendery and I sat at our usual table which was empty. It was quiet in our area -- maybe a little awkward.

Today marked our first date.

"Um, Mingxia, I got you some snacks," Hendery passed a plastic bag filled with little snacks. "I hope you like them."

"Thank you so much," I replied.

"I got you some snacks too," I passed another plastic bag.

"Thank you," Hendery smiled.

A few more minutes passed in silence and Hendery let out a sigh.

"Look, I don't know what dates are supposed to be like because I have never been on one before. So can we just act like we used to?"

"That's what I was going to say," I added.

"Great," Hendery replied. "Oh, can I give you a nickname?"

"Sure, go ahead Dery," I chuckled.

"What?" his cheeks flushed into a light shade of pink.

"That's my nickname for you," I grinned

"Okay, your nickname is going to be Panda because you like pandas."

I laughed and Hendery frowned.

"You don't like it?"

"No, I love it! Even if it's basic, I think it's cute."

Panda. I like the sound of that.
