The test of jealousy

I slowly opened my eyes and looked around my surroundings.

The room is filled in tranquil and I discovered that I'm lying on a hospital bed. I can feel that my head is wrapped with a head bandage, a nasal cannula in my nose, and a cannula inserted in my right hand.

There are no people in my sight but I felt a hand on my left hand and glanced in its way.

It's Nini. She's holding my hand while her head resting on her arm on my bed. She's sleeping soundly.

"Nini," I said in a soft tone and grasped her hand to wake her up. 

She raised her head with her eyes still closed and rubbed it with her free hand while her other hand still holding mine.

"Lili! You're awake!" She pulled her hand away from mine and immediately pressed a button above the headrest of the bed.

It must be a button to call for a nurse.

"Where am I?" I asked her even if I know where I am right now. I'm imitating people from the movies who get admitted to the hospital and still asks where they are. Haha. Kidding.

"You're in a hospital. You've been asleep almost a week. They said that the probability of you waking up will be two to three weeks. I'm glad you wake up early than expected." Nini said showing her gummy smile but her eyes says something else. I must've gotten her so worried. I must have got everyone worried about me.

I've been asleep for almost a week? That's long. Anyway, I love my view right now. Such a beautiful view upon waking up.

Wait.

"My class!" I motioned to get off the bed but Nini softly pushed my shoulders to prevent me from doing so.

"Just stay in your bed, Lili. You need to regain your strength." Nini said calmly.

I leaned my back again on the headrest and took a deep breath.

"How about my class? What day is it today?" I asked.

"It's Thursday. Rosé, Jisoo, and Nayeon went for a visit last Sunday the moment we heard the news about you from BamBam. You got us all worried." Nini explained in a soft tone.

Awww. My friends visited me?

I'm glad.

Nini is in her casual clothes, wearing a plain white crop top, blue jeans, white rubber shoes, and her hair in a half up - half down bun which made her look more beautiful. She's not wearing any makeup, so simple but her beauty makes me wanna cry. I can smell her perfume, she's wearing a Coco Mademoiselle Chanel and it makes me wanna cry even more. I just missed her so bad.

Nini, why are you so perfect?

"How about you? Why are you here and not attending classes?" I asked out of curiosity.

"I've been here since the day we arrived in the hospital. I never left and the girls said they're just gonna cover up for me, I mean us. I told them to tell our professors that you got sick and it's contagious and I got the sickness that you have and told them to lie that we are still living under the same roof. So that's the story." She explained with hand gestures that make her look cute and I've been smiling like an idiot while listening to her.

I nodded. I see. My friends went for a visit and Nini chose to stay. That's really sweet of her.

I'm touched. It's good to have good friends.
