Chapter 6 - Hermes
The chooser suddenly sprang to life, forming a pair of lips that squeaked and began shouting in a high pitched voice; Liam jumped back in shock.
“Well this is a change, twice in a year, well this is too much. But I will not complain I love choosing for I am a chooser. So, a prophecy quest from Mr Joyce. Well I must say, very impressive. So three it is then, for the land of the severed. I suggest...Lochlan Louch, Philippa Jennings and Liam Morris. DON’T FOGET TO USE ME! Good luck and...Chow.”
There was a strong squeak as the chooser regained its hula hoop shape.
“There we have it, Liam, Philippa and Lochlan,” Amy declared. “Our quest seekers.”
The thought had only just hit him, he was going on the quest. He was going to actually complete his own prophecy, his first ever prophecy.
This was going to be great.
He got on really well with Lochlan and knew he would make the quest fun, if a quest could be fun. Plus Philippa had a strong sense of confidence and would be extremely brave if matters were to turn bad. It was the perfect team.
This was going to be great. He had everything he wanted in his bag and him, Lochlan and Philippa were going to take on this quest and show it no mercy.
“Right well no time to lose.” Lochlan sounded just as excited as Liam except more controlled.
“Yeah, quicker you set off, quicker you get back,” Jay agreed.
“Right now?” Philippa asked.
“Yes. You’re off to the Libyan Desert. I suppose you know where that is. Take a fly over there, search the place and do the quest. Send us news of your progress if you have time, and we’ll meet you back at the hideout, and hopefully everything will return to normal,” Amy explained, passing Lochlan the purse. Hollie pulled out her gooble watch too and handed it to Philippa.
“So I guess we’ll see you soon,” Liam said, still wearing an ecstatic expression which was masked with a bit of confusion.
“Yeah, go now, go! Over there, invisibility and Libya. Maybe only travel half the way if it’s too much,” Amy suggested.
“Well seeya then,” Philippa said urgently.
Liam felt weird. He had just been told he was going to have to take on his prophecy with Lochlan and Philippa, and Amy was sending them off right now.
Liam thought maybe she might give him some time to sort stuff out and prepare properly like the first quest, but no, they had to leave then and there.
Liam was quite annoyed that Amy was telling them to go, but he understood. Amy knew there was something else going on but wasn’t telling. She must’ve done else she wouldn’t have been telling them to go like that, that just wasn’t her.
Whatever Amy’s predictions were, they were bad and extremely important. So Liam went around with Philippa and Lochlan, hugging everyone and saying their goodbyes. He would leave now and return before everyone even reaches the hideout. His motto: ‘nothing will stand in the way of ATHENA’S DESCENDANTS!!’
“So, off you go, good luck.” Hollie loosened her tight hug around Philippa and the remaining nine ring bearers turned around to walk away from the river and towards the road where they’d been dropped off.
