Chapter 16~

Taylor's POV
When we get to the beach, it's not as busy as we thought. There were only about 30-40 people there. We lay out our towels and Lauren and Grayson move their stuff a couple feet over from me and Ethan's stuff.
"Why are you moving away from us?" I ask, laughing.

"Idk, just so we can have our own conversations and stuff I guess." Lauren says.

"Haha, okay." Ethan says and Lauren and Grayson start talking.

"I bet I can beat you to the ocean." I say to Ethan.

"I bet you $10 I can beat you." He says.

"Oh it's on!" I say. One thing Ethan doesn't know about me is that I ran cross-country for 5 years.

"3...2...1...GO!!" I say as Ethan and I run to the water. He's in front of me by a couple feet but then I catch up to him and pass him.
I feel my feet hit the cold water then I hear a splash a couple seconds later. It was Ethan. I won!

"Ten bucks boy." I say, laughing.

"Later." He says, then he splashes me. I obviously splash back and we're now splashing each other like crazy.

"Oh my god, you know what's really fun?" I ask Ethan

"What?" He says

"Diving through waves!" I say jumping up and down. I clearly want to dive through the waves.

"Okay, let's go!" He says as we swim towards the waves.

"Okay on three we dive through. 1...2...3!" I say and we dive straight through. We get back above water a couple seconds later.

"That is really fun." Ethan says.

We keep doing that for a while and our fingers start to look like raisins. We don't care and continue to play in the water like little kids.

Ethan goes back to our stuff to get his waterproof camera to take pictures. Then I hear this loud sound coming from behind me. I turn around and a huge wave pushes me underwater. Since the wave was so big, the pressure of the water kept me under for a while.

I opened my eyes and mouth which is something you don't want to do in salt water. My eyes are burning and my throat burns too. I'm pretty sure I went unconscious for a while because after a couple minutes, I feel my body being dragged to the sand.

Ethan's POV
I go to grab my waterproof camera from our bag and I see that Lauren and Grayson aren't by their stuff. I look around and I see them by the snack cart. I turn back to go to the ocean and I don't see Taylor. Anywhere. I run closer to where I'm in the water and I finally see her, but she's just laying there.

I call her name to see if she was just relaxing but she doesn't move. I swim up to her and I check her pulse. Her heart is beating but very slow. I pull her up to the shore and yell for Lauren and Gray.

"Oh my god what happened?!" Lauren asks.

"I don't know. She was fine when I left to get my camera and when I turned around to go back to the water, she was just laying on her back." I say while a tear runs down my face.

"Grayson, call 911!" Lauren says.

"Okay." He says back. I hold Taylor's hand and Lauren sits there in shock. I know how she's feeling right now.

"They said an ambulance will be here ASAP." Gray says. Lauren and I just nod. I don't want to loose Taylor.

Grayson's POV
"Grayson, call 911!" Lauren says.

"Okay." I say walking away dialing the number.

Person- 911 what's your emergency?

Me- Hello, I think my friend is unconscious. We can feel a pulse but it's very slow.

Person- Okay sir, where are you at?

Me- Long Valley Beach ( I know that's not it. I just made it up.)

Person- Okay we will have an ambulance there right away!

Me- Thank you so much!

I hang up and go back to tell Lauren and Ethan everything. Now we just wait.
